Beautiful beaches. rude people. high prices. I don't recommend it.
The beaches are very nice and the water is clean, but there are too many people on the beach. the climbers are very close together. if you want to lie on the beach, you have to pay for a lounger, as all beaches are private. The prices of deckchairs range from €20 to €100 for 2 deckchairs and an umbrella. Many sunbeds are broken. When I said that my deck chair was broken, he assured me that it was fine and left. People are very rude, especially to women. The prices are very high, especially for Albania. Octopus in salad €18, pizza €8, salad €9. If you want to rent a jet ski, the price is €120 for 1 hour or €60 for 30 minutes. I do not recommend it, as there are many other hidden corners where the people are friendlier and the prices are normal.

    Take money for loungers
Beautiful coastline, massively busy in August (which is when I have to go away) but from other reviews, much more pleasant off season. We drove to Kasmil from Sarande (the last kilometer took about 20 minutes) There were no signs for parking, and nothing listed on Maps. When we came off the beach at the end of the day we saw several large, half empty carparks very close to the beaches. The sunbeds are packed in very tightly with barely any space to walk between, let alone put down a towel, therefore, your only waterside seating options are the sunbeds. Some are owned by the hotels, but it's not really clear which (we just got settled and we're asked to move on!) The next place we tried wanted around £40 for two loungers for the day, but then we walked a little further round and found a raised platform with loungers and an amazing view for £12 for two beds all day. There was a great restaurant right next to us serving all the usual fare at reasonable prices.

    Mixed feelings on Ksamil
Mixed feeling of Ksamil. Shocked that there are no free beaches and constant thumping music, water very murky. This would be one of the prettiest beaches I've seen if not for the bars, music, jet skis churning the water. However, the people are lovely, food great and well priced still. If you like the feel of the Greek islands with beach bars, night clubs and tourists markets, you'll love Ksamil. The sunsets are sublime.

SAY NO TO DISCRIMINATION!!!

Here on this beach we have encountered the greatest kind of discrimination based on national, ethnic and religious affiliation.

We were on vacation on summer time in 2021.
Although most of the sunbeds were free (they were not booked and there were no towels on them), we were not allowed to use them.
The staff told us that we could not use the sunbeds, nor book for another day, because we are not Albanians, and we were not Muslims.

They issued them only to Albanians. That is why when Albanian tourists came, the staff arrogantly told us to get up from the sunbeds to give them, even though we were the first to come and want to pay, and the sunbeds were not reserved.

I think that the government of Albania should make sure that this does not happen to foreign tourists, and prevent such discrimination against foreign tourists like us!

Nice place but too crowded. Everything was quite expensive on albanian level, for example sunbeds 1500-2500L, daybed 70€ per day, witch is a lot of money anywhere for a day bed. Nice beaches, but not what expected in photos. Local bus to Ksamil was way too full, not a chance on high season time to get there by bus in the morning.

Travelers choice 2021? You must be kidding me. There’s no public beach in Ksamil, if you want to stay here, you are forced to rent a sunbed for 10 eur per 2 ppl/day. What kind of nonsense is that? I have never visited country where all beaches are paid, and honestly, Ksamil is lovely but it has nothing worth paying that much for used, dirty sunbed on a crowded beach, surrounded by crying children and noisy nouveau riches who come to riviera to show off.
If you want to discourage people from coming to Albania, you’re on the best way to achieve it 👍🏻

I took the local bus, for 100 lek, from Saranda to the Ksamil town center. From there it is a short walk down the hill to a beautiful place to lay for a while.

There were beach chairs, set up, and while I was there for the full day without a charge, I am told that the chairs are usually with a fee, but since it was not yet high season I got lucky.

Highly recommend this beach!

We went here on the way home from visiting Butrint. I was put off stopping here for the afternoon due to the very negative reviews on here regarding this place. We decided to just stay for a while and have a look around before moving off to a couple of other beaches (separate reviews). The other beaches turned out to be not so good so we regretted not staying here much longer.
As we didn't stop here I cannot comment on the prices of sunbeds which seems to be the biggest issue here for people, also others have commented that the beach has sections which belong to various bars and it means you cannot go for a stroll along the beach because of this. We were able to walk for quite a while along the beach by hopping over the small barriers between the section - very easy to do.
Yes I agree all the sunbeds were packed like sardines but it didn't look as bad as people on here are making out. However, it was the middle of June and that might definitely change come July and August. There was room to walk in between and there was room to stroll along the beach. The beach is beautiful and you can see to the bottom of the sea when paddling. It is rather congested in the sea with all the water sports taking place. The islands in front would probably take 10 minutes to swim to - something I wanted to do but didn't get the time - and the whole area was very picturesque.
You will have trouble parking unless you pay as it is a very built up area.
Definitely worth a visit if you can get a reasonable price for your sunbeds.

The beaches here are great, mainly for the clear warm water for swimming, but I was surprised at the price of renting umbrellas and sunbeds (1000 lek - more expensive than dinner in the town!) and disappointed as there is always at least one or more of the beach restaurants blaring the music out as loud as possible. I realised after a few days that it was normal to have loud music everywhere but I would have prefered a quiet beach, difficult to find here. As for the sunbeds, on arriving at the Ksamil beaches, if you turn right instead of left on the waterfront, Stela beach has better value sunbeds at 600 lek per day...

Decent beach, one of several within the area. Some areas still under construction getting ready for the summer season. You will be charged for the use of sun beds etc. Each beach area has at least one bar and/or somewhere to eat. Sand quite gritty and seawater is cold but beautiful.

Ruled by rude, disrespectful people. 1 million people on top of each other, for a family of 4 you need to pay 10€ on parking for them to walk for 20 min to find a free spot and pay 40€ on sunbeds. Water its awful due to the amount of people and tons of boats 3 meters from the shore. Restaurant overpriced, amunities like bathrooms disgusting. Dont visit during peak season
