Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Good food. Great atmosphere and a varied selection of Ales and Ciders that make this an award winning pub. Regularly have one of the amazing Sunday lunches and the bar and restaurant menu offer something for everyone both lunchtime and evenings.

Visited last night, 29th March with my partner and two friends. A proper village pub with a roaring fire and a great choice of real ales written up on a blackboard. Landlord and staff were very friendly and made us very welcome. We had booked to eat so took our place at the table after ordering beer and made our order. A fair choice of food was on offer. A number of specials plus pub favourites. My partner and I chose the burger our friends chose shin of beef pie which came with root mash and cabbage. The burgers were excellent, made from good quality meat and in a brioche type bun. The pies were also of good quality. We were all extremely pleased with our choice. We also had a pudding each which were also very good. I unreservedly recommend this pub for an evening out. We will return.

Called on a Saturday evening with no reservation and the lovely staff found us a snug table and served a lovely, well presented dinner.

At the core of any good pub is its landlord/landlady and the Fleece is lucky to have two of the best. Since taking over, the Fleece has improved beyond all recognition as evidenced by the packed bar and great ambience. The variety of real ales would be hard to match anywhere and the new chef is producing some superb food, all home produced.

The Fleece is now our natural 'go to' pub of the area and we look forward to it staying so.

I came with my family that lives in town, such an amazing quaint place this is. If I ever owned my own pub I'd want something like this. Great service from (I forget his name) it's a shame to hear you're leaving. Thanks for a great experience.

This place is run exceptionally well and when taken there by family living in the area for a Sunday lunch did not expect the fantastic quality or very large portions of food we were served. We chose not to have Starters (thank goodness!) as the main course and desserts more than filled us up!! Well done - an excellent meal from some very satisfied customers!
