Welcome to Big Sky Resort: home of the biggest skiing in America. Now, with the addition of the Moonlight Basin and Spanish Peaks terrain, Big Sky is even bigger! Towering at 11,166 feet and expanding over 5,750 skiable acres, Big Sky stands as a luxurious outpost on the edge Yellowstone's most wild country.

Only 45 minutes from Yellowstone National Park and with over 400"of annual snowfall Big Sky offers down hill skiing, snowboarding, spa getaways, snowshoeing, cross country skiing, snowmobiling and more.

In summer the adventure continues with wildlife viewing, zipline tours, whitewater rafting, biking, hiking, horseback riding, climbing or experience our mountain safari and tram ride to the top with the legendary Lone Peak Expedition.

In short, Big Sky is where the few come to roam, live big, and experience an adventure all their own.

The lift attendants are friendly and interested in you as a skier/boarder. More territory than you could ski in a week. Love everything about Big Sky except the price of lift tickets and the cost of food--bring a bag lunch.

This is our 10th visit to Big Sky resort since 1992 and it keeps getting better. Lift service is excellent - not crowded (I hate to say it - even during xmas ) Everyone is friendly -from lift ticket sales to lift operators. Grooming is outstanding. Lots of terrain for everyone. As I get older, I enjoy the groomed runs... More

Big Sky was great. Skiing options were plentiful and no lift lines (was there on Christmas day). Staff was very friendly and helpful. Ate at Montana Jacks and food and drinks were great too. I did like Copper Mtn and Breck as far as a "village feel" better. Big Sky area has a lot to offer.,,also did dog sledding, and... More

This resort is truly exceptional. The acreage to ski on is extensive and there are numerous runs to suit all abilities. When we were there, the Lone Peak mountain runs didn't have enough snow to ski safely, but not sure if we would have taken up the challenge anyway as they looked the most technical and steepest runs on piste... It's Montana so it is always VERY cold!! It was -29 the other morning at 8am!! Despite having some very extreme terrain, most of the mountain is actually very flat. The area itself is not very convenient, most restaurants and shops are miles away from the main resort area and the skyline express is horrible!! God forbid you miss your... More

Fantastic skiing, probably the best skiing in the US. The resort is huge, all kinds of trails, for every level of skiing. Every one was super friendly and helpful. The trails are well maintained, well signed, and the view is fantastic! In the past I had skied in Colorado, Canada and Europe, but this was the best! If you love... More

A great ski site, very very friendly, very service oriented. I've never had a more professional and efficient ski equipment rental. Ten minutes in and out. Three lifts just off the back of the center. Plenty of food places and toilets. It's almost two hours from the airport but once you're here you're set

I have skied for 35 years, having 5/6 trips to Big Sky in the 1980's and early 1990's. Most of my other ski adventures were on 7 different Colorado resorts, and Bridger Bowl and (then called Big Mountain) Whitefish in Montana. Our renewal of familiarity at Big Sky at Christmas was a reminder of how monsterously huge this place is,... More

Took our family for our first ever ski vacation. Big Sky is gorgeous-we rented a villa which was decorated beautifully and was very spacious-enjoyed it very much. Lone Mountain has tons of ski runs for all levels of skiers. It was not really crowded at any time during our stay. Staff members were friendly and accommodating.

I skied in so many ski resorts around the world (Swiss/French/Austrian Alps, Dolomites/Italy, Canada, Utah, Colorado), and Big Sky Resort ranks among my all-time favorites. Apart from complete wilderness skiing by helicopter in the Bugaboos, I have never experienced so many tree and powder runs in any other resort. This was my first visit to Big Sky, MT, and it...
