ZooMontana is a zoological and botanical garden and educational facility dedicated to the conservation of wildlife throughout Montana and the 45th parallel of earth. ZooMontana cares for over 100 animals of 51 different species, including wolves, grizzly bear, otter, eagles, and Lynx. Located in the picturesque tourist destination of Billings, MT, ZooMontana offers visitors a unique opportunity to learn about Yellowstone ecosystem fauna through direct observation, interpretive displays, and experiential educational programs. Annually, community and educational programs serve over 12,000 students and over 100,000 visitors, most of whom hail from the northern Rockies. Led by a 16 member staff, ZooMontana enjoys strong community support through volunteerism, donations, and outreach.

Zoo Montana is small, but the animals look really well cared for. They seem to be updating and have already updated several enclosures. I didn't see any of the animals pacing. Don't miss the kookaburra (Australian bird) in the main building. He was very chatty...More

What a wonderful smaller zoo to spend a few hours walking through. The new animals and exhibits are great. DO NOT miss the LAUGHING KOOKABURRA!! The adorable Red Pandas and majestic Amur Tigers are beautiful and love an audience. Bring the whole family and enjoy!

We currently on our winter hours. Those are 10am-2pm and you can stay on grounds until 3pm. This is everyday. Come April, weekends will be 10am-5pm and come May, it will 10am-5pm everyday. Thanks!
