Huge, really huge lake! Never crowded, many access points. The weather can get extreme, but it's beautiful. The fishing varies, of course.

The dam is 4 miles long and creates a reservoir with more shoreline than the state of California! Beautiful views from the dam. We hear there's excellent fishing, though we didn't do so.

This is in a small town that has no gas station. Since it's a little off the Hi-Line, you should keep this in mind. Despite that, the lake is really beautiful and not too crowded. Definitely worth the quick trip in if you're sight seeing....More

The Interpretive Center at Fort Peck is very good - and if you have kids, you really need to stop. They have a good mix of the dam building history and then the dinosaurs of the area. They have a layout of the dam and...More
