This museum chronicles the history of Great Falls, Montana. The city has undergone tremendous change since it was founded in the 1880s. The city has a rich past, much of which is now only part of history. What is not apparent today is preserved in various forms presented chronologically. A picture of a "cowgirl" riding astride two horses while jumping... More

Great local free museum showing life in Great Falls over the years. Loved the clothing and uniforms of local residents displayed by era.

We had 30 min to spend before heading to the airport and passed this museum. It's FREE! (Thanks to Owen and Gayle Robinson) and the collection was well presented and interesting. The collection of Native American artifacts is exceptional. The gift shop is awesome too. Must also compliment the staff who were cheerful and helpful. Do go!

Pleasantly surprised at the beautiful exhibits about Great Falls. The museum is free and worth an hour and a half of your time. There is a nice gift shop too.

Lots of displays about various aspects of Great Falls area history. The downtown area, department stores, telephone, advent of electricity in the city, the entertainment, war time, native peoples, cow girls and more. The exhibits, at this time, focused on times around 1860 - 1940s or so. Educational, not boring. Just the right amount of information to the exhibits. I... More

Location on what is locally known as "Machinery Row" from the old days when farm tractors and equipment arrived by railroad. Displays of the early days but what I use and find most interesting are is the genealogical research available from Great Falls City Directories and huge bound volume of Immigration and Naturalization records.

This old garage & warehouse now houses archives of newspapers, photos, artifacts(appliances, vintage clothing, arrowheads,...), wonderful historic displays, book & gift shop, and the Ozark room. The Ozark is a large area with a stage where speakers and musicians can entertain audiences.

This is worth checking out for interpretive/cultural experience. Check directions and map: Great Falls has Streets and Avenues with Direction which can get confused for out-of-towners.

I've been there before and they have splendid exhibits. It is not far from the La Quinta Motel. Their special exhibits change, but they still feature some military items.
