On a midwinter break I took my daughter and our German exchange student to Chico Hot springs for 3 nights and though 20 degrees out our exchange student who has ridden English wanted to go on a short ride Western style. Arrangements were made for the morning of our departure, we met Heidi at the barn at the appointed time... More

For the 100 year anniversary of our National Parks; my family and I took a 3-day pack trip to Sportsman Lake. We were a party of 13; 9 guests and 4 wranglers. We packed 12 mules for all our gear; tents, food, fishing rods, table, chairs and even the kitchen (and sink). We congregated at Fawn Creek and we rode... More

I recommend the 3 hour ride. We went far up onto the mountain and the wranglers made it comfortable for the experienced as well as the less experienced riders. The views were great. The horses appear well cared for. Altogether a good choice..

It was a lovely experience being able to go on a 3 day 2 night pack trip with mules and horses. Previously we had only ridden a couple of hours a day on various trips, and being able to spend the entire day riding was a joy. We went by fan creek via fawn pass up to sportsman lake on... More

My 12 year old son and I took a 2 hour trail ride with Christine as our guide. She was a great guide. This was my son's first time riding a horse and she gave him very patient guidance and coaching. He loved it! She was so knowledgeable about local history and lore as well as the flora and fauna... More

My husband and I were booked a carriage ride for our trip to Chico. I had explained to them that I had a service dog when I booked. Heidi said it was okay and then when we went to go on our ride they made me feel so unwanted I decided not to go. My service dog has never been... More

We went to Yellowstone mid September and all the Yellowstone and Gardiner stables were closed. I happened to find Rockin HK Outfitters when I was looking into Chico Hot Springs. Heidi was able to get us on an hour long horseback ride which was just lovely. She was informative and made us feel very safe. We had a great time... More

They were a perfect fit for our family. We booked a one hour trail ride. They were ready for us when we arrived and gave us a short orientation. The horses were great and the trail was beautiful. Our guide Drew was very helpful and shared wonderful information on the trail. We would definitely go back.

My 9 yo daughter has ridden a horse once and was dying to do it on this vacation. My 6 yo son has never ridden a horse and was also very interested. (In the park, Yellowstone horse rides have a strict age cut off of 8 yo for horse back riding.) Rockin' HK Outfitters is in a great old barn,... More
