We snowshoe the road trail and were pleasantly surprised to find this lake. It was a nice diversion from the groomed road. Pretty and quiet.

Very close to town- Red Lodge and easily accessible. The whole area is beautiful and we used to snowshoe around the lake with our samoyed.

We've been there when there's been several people and also when it's been empty yet when it's busy there is always a spot somewhere... More

We spent and afternoon at this mountain lake with the snow falling and the rainbows inhaling our flies. Great place to see.

I've been coming to Red Lodge for years and this place was amazing! No one was there and we got to catch a few small trout! I highly recommend packing a lunch and hanging out here for a few hours.

This impoundment of a local creek was restored some time ago & is now a Forest Service picnic area., A local businessman built a dam to create a pond. He also constructed docks, a swim area and a dance pavilion, Sadly, there's no pavilion today.

In all my years living an hour away from Red Lodge I never knew this lake existed until a year or so ago. Finally got to go today for the first time. This is a super quaint little lake tucked up in the mountains about 5 minutes out of Red Lodge. There is ample parking along with picnic tables and... More

this is a great lake for teaching your kids how to fish. you can use flies or bait. best time to fish is early evening when everyone else is eating in town. we caught and release about a dozen rainbows.

Thank Rick W
