This place is a hidden gem. You'd never know it was there if you didn't look for things to do in Lincoln. I lived in Lincoln prior to moving to PA 15 years ago. This museum opened in the years since I moved. I was going home for a visit with my boyfriend who had never been to Nebraska before,... More

A stop on the way that turned out to be the highlight of our trip. Even if you are not a fan of cars and racing there is enough interesting items and stories to entertain the antique collector, the racing fan, the history buff and the hot rod builder. The tour is well worth the time to learn about the... More

Race cars and equipment from 1900s to present. Very well displayed. Some very rare cars in prestine condition. Recommend seeing. Also soap box cars and peddle cars.

We have in the past been unable to ever tour this museum due to the quirky hours. It was always listed as "Call to set up a tour" and we're more spur of the moment "let's go somewhere" kinds of people. So when we noticed that they were in the "Nebraska Passport" program we checked again, saw new hours listed,... More

This place is GINORMOUS. Over 150,000 square feet of motoring. I would expect this type of museum in Daytona or Indy. The tours start about 1pm. Expect to spend 2-3 hours. The volunteer tour guides are GREAT, crazy smart. Costs about $10 to $15, but dang it was so worth the $'s. We've got to go again.

We spent a couple of hours on a self guided tour on a Thursday afternoon and only was able to see the first and second floor as we had an appointment to get to. Such an awesome place for the history of cars and racing. Loved the second floor display of hood ornaments, really nice collection there. We will go... More

I recently had the opportunity to visit the Speedway Motors Museum of American Speed. I have known about it for awhile, and being a Nebraska resident I really wanted to check it out. There were thirty-some of us and we were warmly greeted by the museum staff. They had leaders/guides for 3 groups so we divided into smaller groups. The... More
