We stopped by to purchase a gift from the nice gift shop before heading over to the movie. Since we had some time we took a quick look at the current exhibits. We really enjoyed the mask exhibit. The doll house on the second floor is not to be missed.

The museum is easily reached from the Capitol and presently spread over 2 floors. The ground floor had a selection of photos from the post WW2 period and masks. The first floor is more interesting with photos from the late 19th century Indians, and a selection of exhibits showing the crafts, people, machines through the history, a small teepee, presumably... The 2016 event was very popular as the auditorium was completely filled with chairs in the hallway. The sound system was wonderful so even though I was seated outside of the auditorium I could still hear the readings. A reception was being set up adjacent to the auditorium to celebrate the authors. The best part is that I got my... More

This museum has special exhibits and on second floor a "time-line" of Nebraska history. Not only for history buffs, but some creative works also. Not a good place to spend an hour or so with kids.

We stopped here after visiting the capital and enjoyed a very good docent lead tour. This provided us with highlight of the states history in the limited time we had available. They are moving to larger quarters, which will allow more of the collections to be displayed. We recommend it even if you only have an hour or so.

Great spot to kill some time and look at exhibits. I took my family and we stopped in for about 30 minutes.

A very great little museum and worth a visit. The museum is under renovation with two floors were open. It is very much worth seeing. And will get better as they progress.

Took my Dad here on a hot summer day and we enjoyed it very much. Nice historical quilt display. Very educational and interesting history of the Indians who lived here their hardships and what life was like. Poignant art display of modern day Indian artists also. Many nice benches with children's books about Indians and their history. Especially enjoyed the... More

Nice place. Under renovation. Rather interesting from European perspective. Beware the map is wrong at present in tropical advisor. See screen shot for correct location

Overall, a very good museum and worth a visit. Here is what you need to know: 1. The museum is growing and was not fully up and operational, but two floors were open and what was available was really interesting. It is very much worth a visit. 2. It is free (suggested $2 donation), so at that price even if... More
