I did the tubing in July of 2017. During that time of year the water in the Verdigre creek is a little low. We had to walk about an hour or more to where the creek flows into the Niobrara River. At that point there was enough water to tube. I did this with my mother who is in her 80's which was not a good idea. This year there would have been enough water but I would be concerned about the Niobrara being a little too fast for children.

We're sorry to hear about your experience you had a year ago. We’re normally known for our exceptional customer service, High satisfaction rate, and a very high return customer rate. As clearly stated on our website there is a hall mile of the Verdigre before you get into the Niobrara River. The half mile of Verdigre is sometimes all floatable, sometimes partially floatable, with some walking. The four miles of the Niobrara River always has a current. We regret to hear that the river missed the mark with your experience. We appreciate your concern about floating too much this year. The Niobrara River is a VERY FAMILY safe river. We of course monitor the river conditions and the Niobrara River was great this year! There was no flooding in the Niobrara River this year and we had MANY children with parents that had a great time! All children 12 and under are required to wear life jackets at all times. We do not send anyone on the river if it is flooding or moving too fast. It is rare in our area to have the Niobrara River flood. Thanks

We had an absolutely incredible time on the island! The weather was perfect! Both Diane and Calvin are so friendly and helpful in giving directions to you prior to the trip on the rivers(Verdigre and Niobrara) to make it a great day for you. They are both very knowledgeable about the area. We did very little walking. They do tell you to be prepared to do some walking depending on the level of the water on the rivers that day. The trip took us about 3 hours. We could have went on longer being so much fun! It is a beautiful area and so peaceful and relaxing. We did see an eagle and least tern on our trip. Hoping to go again!

We used this service for a Saturday 4 hour trip. When we arrived to check in the staff was very unfriendly. The staff had our reservation incorrect and basically called us incompetent. As for the equipment rented one of the tubes had a hole in it. Ended up walking the last 1/4 of the trip with a flat tube. The staff at the pick up point was just as unhelpful as the staff at the starting point. They couldn't get rid of us fast enough. Very poor Expirence.

We're sorry that the trip did not go well for you. We do trips by reservation only. Your group was one hour early as confirmed even by the person in your group who made the reservation. We do by reservation so we can try to care for our customers in a timely manner. Due to the fact that you arrived one hour early, you arrived the same time that our scheduled customers for that time slot arrived. We needed to care for those customers first. We did address you when you arrived and gave you the option to wait for your original scheduled time or to wait at the end of your trip for your shuttle back. Your group chose to wait at the end of your trip for your shuttle back. At the end of your trip, we did not want to get rid of you, we wanted you to relax in the river and wait for the shuttle that you agreed to wait for. However at the end of your trip, part of your group expressed that were not happy about waiting for the shuttle that you originally agreed to wait for and insisted on getting your own vehicles. So we made room for at least one of your drivers to get a ride to their vehicle. We then shuttled part of your group back when the shuttle was available. As with most rivers, we explain to all customers there is logs or sticks that you need to watch for while floating that may puncture your tubes. It is rare but it may happen. We provide life vests to all customers that they can use for floating in the rare circumstances a tube may deflate. It is unfortunate that you did not enjoy your trip. ALL of our other 70+ other customers that day told us they had a GREAT time and at least 3 of the groups that day have already booked another trip. We pride ourselves in courteous, friendly service and hope you will give us another chance.
