The view of Bailey Yard from the Golden Spike Tower is really spectacular! Watching trains being humped into their respective consists was certainly something you don't get to see everyday. Great stop for any rail fan.

I'd seen the Bailey Railyard before from ground level. The view from Golden Spike along with accompanying excellent print materials that explained the different facets of the yard made this an experience filled with learning opportunities. Whenever we saw a train the next two weeks, my husband and I raced to see who could recall more information. Good experience.

To clarify, if you go up in the Golden Spike Tower, you will be viewing the Bailey Yard. It's the largest classification yard in the world and there is a guide in the tower (8th floor, enclosed observation deck) to explain what you are seeing. Kids will be enthralled and RR buffs will enjoy seeing how a railroad really works... More

This place was absolutely fabulous! I did not expect it to be so interesting. The Golden Spike Tower looked new and was full of information. You could go to the 7th floor that was open or the 8th floor that was enclosed. There were people available on the 8th floor for questions that used to work in the yard. Not... More

this is a train buff's dream. the trains move through like one every six minutes, so there's always something to watch. the tower is even air conditioned, so you're out of the heat. the spouse loved it....her dad used to help run the trains. highly recommended for a train buff, but even nonbuffs :-) will enjoy it.

Not sure what sets us apart from everyone else. The is my first 1star TripAdvisor review. After paying for admission, you walk the gift shop. $24 for a famiy of 4. A video plays in another room on loop about the railyard. You can view from the open deck, where you pay even more for a view through a telescope... More
