The most amazing fact about this Capitol building is that it was completely gutted except for the outside walls and then completely reconstructed from 1977-1981. The interior is beautiful with an amazing historical frieze atop the walls on the first floor that lists the includes...More

I have visited many of the state capitols, but enjoyed my visit here very much. It is certainly not the biggest capitol but it is very nice, very quaint and well done. The people were outstanding, just could not have been friendlier or more informative.

We only visited from the outside, but it’s a fairly unique, attractive looking building, in the middle of a wooded property. Definitely worth stopping to take pictures. What is also interesting is that across the street, to the east and west, are the city hall...More

This is a must see building. The grounds are great and they have the police statue with the list of names of fallen officers. The state of Kit Carson is nice as well as the founder of Carson City--Curry

A lot of the building is available to self-tour and there are lots informational exhibits and the folks in the various offices are very willing to answer questions and provide info.

Although the capitol building itself is not one of the more ornate that we have visited, our family enjoyed the visit. The security guard went out of his way to point out the Lincoln bust in the governor's office and make sure we noted how...More

Very small capitol building compared to Sacramento. Easy to get in, no metal dectectors and hooked up with a tour in progress. The Governor was in that day, he came out, shook hands, took pics with kids and was very nice to all. We walked...More
