Quaint smaller park. Small museum and very well maintained grounds. Opens at 10 am? Some nice pieces from the era like wagons and lumber haulers. Inexpensive admission to museum, grounds are free.

A beautiful place to sit and look at the mountains. I would suggest walking down the road and getting a ice cream first.

This is a lovely well maintained park in the town of Genoa. There are picnic tables and public barbecues, a nice sidewalk to walk on and well kept public restrooms. A great example for other cities to follow.

Small, quiet park where I had my morning meditation. There are a few plaques and a tiny museum as well as a few places to sit and enjoy your morning cup of joe.

From the Mormon settlers to the pony express and Snow-Shoe Thompson's great endeavors to even a famous curse, you will walk away from this historic place with more knowledge and appreciation for this area and its founding.

Very nice park area but not much to see from a historical standpoint. A few plaques with information. Did not visit the small museum.

Located in Genoa, NV this is literally a small corner of a wide spot in the road. Apparently it is the first permanent non-native settlement in Nevada. The park features a replica of a 1851 trading post stockade that burned down in 1910. If you...More

This is a very small, but packed with information, restored Mormon trading post that served travelers before they crossed the Sierra Nevada to California. The exhibits explain the origin of the Genoa name and the Mormon "expansion" within the Utah Territory. There is also a...More

Mormon Station is managed by National Parks Service. The grounds are beautifully maintained and they have a wonderful museum with significant historic mementos. Fun and inexpensive place to have a family gathering or just pop in when you're walking around Genoa. There's often events going...More

If my memory serves me correctly, my friend and I visited the small fort on the last day of the season, which was around October 11th. There are outdoor parts of the park that would be open all year round I suspect. Hope... More
