Great spot off the beaten path

A wonderful half-day trip to take to get you away from all the lights and bells. Locals know the secrets :)

My husband and I went to the Henderson Bird Viewing Preserve expecting to take a 15 minute stroll and hop back in the car. 90 minutes later, we got back to the car and were still chatting at this "owl faced" hawk we saw, the bight red/orange eyes of the mud ducks and the song birds. We are not birding... More

A great easy walk about 4 miles around and about. Its an edge of a fly thru so lots of birds, mostly water fowl. Some wonderful small creatures, squirrels, rabbits.

Wife and I visited and were excited seeing all of the various waterfowl. This has to be one of the best spots in the area for bird watching. Very nice factilyt and help and friendly staff. A must visit if bird watching in the area.

This is an outstanding birding location. Easy to find, and great habitats for all kinds of birds. Staff is very helpful.

So many wild birds to see, did not know where to start. The volunteer staff at the office knows their stuff. They will lend you binoculars if you do not have them.Spring annd fall are the top times but we visited in winter and so much to see.Gets hot I imagine in the summer and not much shade. They close in mid afternoon.

Visiting from Wisconsin we enjoyed the walk around all of the different ponds. Saw many 'winter' fowl and enjoyed the breath-taking mountain views. The lady checking us in was very cordial. The scenery here will consistently change with the seasons. We hope to return very soon!

My family went here in the fall to do some volunteer planting for the preserve. It is a very nice birding place, well set up. Park like setting and nice walk around/near pond. Would love to return in the spring and watch the birds.

My wife and I have been birders for most of our lives, as well as frequent visitors to Las Vegas, so it was natural that we would gravitate to this preserve. The people in the office where you sign-in have been consistently helpful and will happily lend you binos if we don't own a pair. Any time of year you... More

We visit every time we are in Vegas. Good for a morning walk. Friendly and helpful staff. Birds change with the season and we usually see some different birds.

Thank Keng L
