Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

As an area resident, I can access this awesome trail within just a few miles of my Henderson residence. Therefore, I have ridden every aspect of the trail many times in both directions for shorter and longer rides. From my door round trip is 42 miles, but for the road bikers who don’t think much of this distance--just consider that I ride a steel frame mountain bike. My kind of riding is for fitness conditioning and safety so this is my preference. Although the trail is paved, there is plenty of gravel and debris that can cause loss of traction if you aren't cautious. Unless you are on a road bike, prepare for at least a three hour ride to do the whole loop.

Be prepared to meet your highest challenge on the famous “Three Sisters” hill sequence as it is steep and long in rapid succession. Both the “Sisters” and the views are breathtaking! I am not a "fair weather" or seasonal cyclist so I enjoy this trail year round. Start at sunrise in the summer and take plenty of water and an emergency tire repair kit. A flat on a remote section of this trail would not be fun without a spare. The loop is scenic and variable. Occasionally, Desert Big Horn Sheep can be seen from the trail. During cycling season the trail gets pretty busy on the weekends so I prefer the safety of weekday riding.

We rode the RMLT and out and back to the Hoover Dam. About 75KM of distance and 4,000ft (1,200M) or cumulative vertical. With November temperatures 32C, definitely for the intermediate+ cyclist.

If you like to ride bikes, then you simply cannot miss this amazing ride. An utterly magnificent 31-mile paved bike loop on the outskirts of Las Vegas, about a 20 minute easy drive from the Strip. You can rent a car and park in the parking lot of the River Mountains Bike Shop. The manager is Darryn Padfield, an extremely friendly, knowledgable, and helpful person. Pick up a carbon road bike and get ready to enjoy mile after mile of gently winding desert/mountain/lake beauty. The loop meanders around Lake Mead, and then courses through Boulder City, with gentle ups and downs. Lots of places to rest/refuel/rehydrate along the way. Perfect for the beginner rider. There is also access to a nest of mountain biking trails near Boulder City (Bootleg canyon). Also, you can do a brief hike to the Hoover Dam along the way, and can also swim in Lake Mead if you want. Magnificent!

We started our ride near Lake Las Vegas. I belive we were on the Lake Mead Parkway, then crossed under the highway and hooked up to the River Mountains Loop. We did this clockwise. I was dreading the 3 sisters and to be honest I found that portion easier (again clockwise) than from Alan Bible Center/Lake Mead to Bootleg Canyon. This section was an ongoing climb for several miles. Anyhow lived to tell the story and looks like we are doing this ride again in a couple days. What a wonderful trail looping through the desert. I always thought the desert was flat....OMG I was so wrong.

Cycled portions of this loop over several days. A couple portions did twice. This is a road bike loop for sure. We brought our hybrid bikes on vacation and left our roadies at home big mistake. We still enjoyed the ride but had to work extra hard to do the climbs. Yes there are portions of flat but also lots of climbs. The total loop is about 34 miles or 54 kilometers. My favorite section was along Lake Mead. Very beautiful ride! Also enjoyed the ride from Boulder City to Henderson and Lake Las Vegas. We went off the trail and also biked the Wetlands. Another day we road from Boulder City on this loop and hooked up with the Historic Rail Trail up to the Hoover Dam.

I trail run and hike this with my dogs and its best during the cooler months. I use dirt trails off the main trail as I have found "shady" rest spots for me and the poocheslike a cave up high overlooking a great valley and some overhangs where we can rest from the heat. But we try to start early in the summer and depending on our route we can cover 3 to 6 miles round trip. Bring lots of water and survival first aid kit and compass gps if you use the off route dirt trails. The rewards are greater views of wildlife like desrt sheep deer and coyotes and the desert tortoise. Haven't found a rattler yet and neither have the dogs and they are good at spotting snakes.

We had heard about the Mountain loop trail and you can see parts of it from the highway so after a big lunch at the Jokers Wild casino in Henderson we decided that a nice COOL day hike was just the thing to do. LOTS of cactus were blooming (it was mid April) and there were even more tiny 'belly flowers' if you spent the time to look and the treat was seeing a group of four big horn sheep just about 40 yards off the easy to walk trail. They were certainly the highlight of our walk and the other bonus was that we only saw one other family so we had the trail to ourselves - Really a treat!

I chose this trail so that I could just ride and look around and not have to deal with traffic, what a great choice! It was challenging with all the up hills and great fun with the downhills. I rented a roadbike in Henderson and rode about 9 miles each way to it, then I detoured off of it and used the road to go to Hoover Dam and back. It made for a 61 mile day that I will always remember. Be sure to prepare well with energy snacks and water as there are not places to just stop and get them though I did get to refill all my bottles at the Dam. Don't go to the Dam if you don't have really strong legs to get back up and are comfortable on the road. Even the 35 mile loop is tough if you aren't used to hills... Me? I loved it and the views were totally worth it, I saw Vegas like no one else did in my group on the trip!!

Breathtaking views and super well maintained path.
Had s great time on the trail and saw a few other people while out there. We did a walking/hiking "hike" but many out there were riding bikes.
Weather was great for this time of the year but I imaging it can get brutal in June-Sept.
Would recommend hopefully be back one day!
