- camalyne08Alachua, Florida1 contributionLion Habitat RanchThis place is great! As a person who works in veterinary medicine, I can be skeptical about places that have exotic animals that you can view/visit. I asked so many questions and the zookeepers took the time to answer all of them. Their knowledge showed me this place is an actual sanctuary for “retired” lions. They take great care of the animals there and I highly recommend visiting!Visited October 2023Written 23 October 2023
- rjpatterson19781 contributionFun for kidsGreat site. Tons of fun for kids. I find it a little tacky that they charge tourists more than locals. But it is what it is. Still worth going as long as u have kids to take that’ll enjoyVisited October 2023Travelled with familyWritten 30 October 2023
- Laura CMilford, Massachusetts45 contributionsLions in HendersonI loved the Lion Habitat Ranch! It was really neat to see the lions and birds and Ozzie!! Ozzie was the best and it was so fun watching him paint! I even got to take home a small bit of his artwork. The staff were all very friendly and I had a lot of fun. Located in the same city as family I was visiting it was a nice non-tourist thing to do outside of Las Vegas.Visited November 2023Travelled with friendsWritten 13 November 2023

My family and I was able to feed him for $10.00 each. It was worth it.Visited November 2023Travelled with familyWritten 29 November 2023

- tjcamazChandler, Arizona1 contributionHighly recommend! This is a welcome distraction from the Las Vegas strip. Be sure to get there to watch them feed the lions and to watch the giraffe do his painting. The staff was very friendly and willing to tell you all about the lions. Great way to spend a couple hours.Visited December 2023Travelled with familyWritten 3 January 2024
- mtlforlife72North Las Vegas, Nevada1 contributionGreat place to get close to a Zoo fix in Las VegasThe keepers were great about sharing information about the lions and engaging them with meat treats so the cats would entertain. Ditto the enrichment activity that triggered a roaring session among the cats that was an impressive event. The lions are well cared for here and the attentiveness of the staff for them is omnipresent. It came across as a safe, professional venue with great pic opportunities.Visited January 2024Written 9 January 2024

Im a las vegas local and Ive been to the habitat ranch many times in the past and have had a great experience with my family but this past weekend it was quite the opposite experience. This was the first time we've came to the ranch since the COVID restrictions and they were really running this place like nazi Germany. We arrived at the ranch around 12pm and the gate was closed and someone came out and advised me of the new rules that a reservation has to be made prior to arriving. So I went ahead and booked the next reservation or 1pm. It was inconvenient but I was okay with that. We came back at 1pm and parked and we go to the front to check in and I was told that children over the age of 2 must wear a face mask. I was literally boiling inside but my son really wanted to go in so I had no choice but to comply with their rules. I've been to many many places here in Las Vegas and not ONE TIME did I enter any establishment which asked me to put a face mask on my 4 year old son. I dont believe in face masks but I wear it all the time but I refuse to put one on my innocent healthy child. This was beyond egregious. We are in a outdoor setting, this is literally the best place to NOT wear a face mask even if you are a believer in that. THen we walk in and walk around I we usually do and literally no one around us and then we are told we are walking the wrong way and we need to walk the opposite direction. And about every 10 minutes they had someone on the loud speaker repeating for everyone to follow social distancing guide lines. Just a horrible experience. I rather have my son watch lion king instead of this BS.

The Ranch is small and great for a quick outing with the family. It houses birds, emus, tortoises, lions and Ozzy the giraffe. Due to the pandemic, tickets are sold on a limited basis so check availability online prior to your visit. Arrive 20-30 minutes prior to appt time as there was a line of cars waiting outside the gate to enter; ranch attendant checks in each party and take temps of all guests. Walking path is paved and easy to get around. We visited the ranch with our granddaughters during Spring Break. It was a warm day so wear sunscreen, bring water/an umbrella or wear a hat as there are limited shaded areas. There is a small gift shop and restroom onsite. Overall, we had a great time.

We live in Henderson, and have known about Lion Habitat Ranch since we moved here in 2019. We finally checked it out with our kids, and had such a great experience. Lion Habitat Ranch is doing a fantastic job of limiting a crowd and ensuring safety. These are some of the most beautiful and healthy lions I have ever seen. The employees keep the lions active with snacks as guests make their way through, so you get to see much more than just sleepy lions. The employees are also very knowledgeable, and give short lessons about the animals. My kids LOVED Ozzie the Giraffe, and his painting demonstration was fun. Even taking our time we spent just under an hour there, but it was a great way to get out of the house, and we were happy to support such a positive organization.

We visited the Habitat during Phase 2 of COVID. Upon arrival we needed reservations so we had to leave and come back. I did not see the reservations needed on their website when I was making the plans. We were unable to use the POGO pass and had to pay full price to get in to see minimal animals and exhibits. I understand they need to make money but I think it would be beneficial to offer a discount price during this time if they are going to refuse other offers. The staff was kind and informational for the animals we were able to see. Ozzy did the painting. Most lions were not viewable as they were in the air conditioning. In normal times I would have chosen a 3 rating but understanding they have restrictions for COVID gave them 4. Know before you go that reservations and masks are required and you have under an hour to see it all.

Took my mother here for her birthday. All of us loved the place. The lions were very fun to watch, Ozzie the giraffe painted dazzling pictures, and the birds were neat to interact with. Only down side is that the property is a little small. Hopefully one day they can relocate to a larger piece of property and make the enclosures a little bigger. We would definitely go back.

This place was amazing. I took my son and nephew there to see the lions and Ozzie the Giraffe and we all had the best time. It is hard to find something that keeps my sons interest and attention but this was perfect. When we first got there he was not that interested but after Ozzie painted for the audience and one of the trainers spoke about giraffes he was locked in. After that we saw all 31 lions and even got to watch them eat while the trainers spoke about them! It was so cool. What’s even better is it’s a nonprofit organization and all the proceeds go right back to the habitat!!! He hey we’re overly cautious about COVID guidelines as well!

We were amazed by the loudest of their roars. Apparently there was a little scuffle among a couple of Lions, however it was a group discussion by the Lion’s community. We never imagined that the Lions Roars were so intermediating. This is a very worthwhile experience for the entire family, will go back again.

This was my first trip to Vegas and the Lion Habitat Ranch was the highlight of my trip. I got to feed two lions for the price of one because the male didn’t finish his meal which almost never happens! Then my girlfriend got to feed Ozzie and hand him a paintbrush with her favorite colors to paint her a beautiful picture on her own personal canvas. He is truly an artist! Will make it my business to visit EVERY trip to Vegas!

It is amazing seeing these wildlife creatures in Nevada. We had an opportunity to feed Ozzy the Giraffe (for a small fee) and also saw him create some art. The lions starting roaring during the presentation, and it was amazing. This is a Non-profit organization, with volunteers working it, the price is just right for what this organization is doing. This is something you have to experience in life. A must do in Las Vegas!

The habitat houses a bunch of lions and visitors are allowed to get pretty close! They also have a few birds and a giraffe that paints, and that you can feed for a small fee. All the staff was very friendly and knowledgeable and willing to answer all of our questions. We will visit again. 😊

Not sure when they do it during regular hours. We took the behind-the-scenes tour and our guide carried food to feed the lions as we visited them. You could call them to find out their feeding schedule.

Are the lions in a natural setting (grass, trees, etc)? Or are they in cages like outdated zoos?
Written 23 January 2021
The lions are in an open air fenced in habitat. Unfortunately no grass or trees. All of these lions were born in captivity for four or five generations. One of the oldest lions is related to the original MGM lion.

how much is a cab and/or transport from aria hotel to lion habitat.
Are there organised trips including transportation and entry ?
Written 23 December 2019
I paid about $20 for Lyft from the strip to the Habitat, including tip.

How far is this place from Caesars? How much time do you need to enjoy? Any recommendations on what to do there?
Written 25 February 2019
Would you reccommend the private tour or spending the $ to feed the lions. Just trying to see if the private tour is worth it. For the 4 of us regular admission and 2 people feeding it's about $100 less than if we just did the tour.
Written 18 February 2019
We didnt and I didnt miss anything, we walked along with a "private tour" and got to see most except feed and I dont want to touch raw meat anyway. Maybe would have been fun to feed Ozzy the Giraffe but no regrets. So glad we went, what a neat place

Husbands surprise bd,how much for three people, behind the scenes tour? And may we come on Friday Nov 3rd? Thx.
Written 23 October 2017
P.S. There is one day each week when the Behind the Scenes tour is not available. The GroupOn (dis ounted price for 2) which still seems to be available excludes Wednesday. Even if there were not any special offer, we highly recommend this tour. Also, the extra cost helps to support these animals which are endangered in the wild. Have fun!! There are assorted fun things in the gift shop there as well.

Can anyone comment on visiting with just general admission entry? Is it worth it and what is included? Would love to do the behind the scenes but currently out of the budget ...
Written 6 October 2017
We did general admission and went at 10:00am. Our group was about 8 people and we had plenty of time at each cage to get up close. It really is amazing listening to each of the Lions history and story and how they are related to the other lions at the habitat. I highly recommend this adventure.

On average, how much time should one allow for this attraction?
Written 29 September 2017
I would allow at least 2 full hours at the location itself. It is fun to just stand and watch the animals!
Written 24 October 2017
Are they closing this attraction?I heard something about this
Written 3 August 2017
I have a friend who volunteers there and I have not heard anything about it closing.
