Usually overcrowded like beaches in Southern California. There is a fee to go there. Internal driving paths are dangerous. Gorgeous view from the shoreline If you can get in. Spring and autumn are less crowded. .

We went there just few days after the winter storm. Really nice to see amount of snow contrasts with the sky and the sea. There are little trails that you can walk around the area too.

A very spiritual location! I come here at least once a year to get re-grounded and focused (and maybe eagle watch). If you are into meditation, great place to come meditate!

Easy walk on the path and fun to explore around the granite boulders and walk on the beach. Incredible how clear Lake Tahoe is.

When I lived in Tahoe I think I went to Sand Harbor two or three times, all of which were free but I've heard access is a bit over priced. Fun beach for photos during the winter. But way to over crowded during the summer. INVAIDED by tourists. I would reccomend one of the many free beaches of the east... More

This is our top beach hangout if you are staying on the north shore. Try the Tahoe Shakespeare festival which plays in the amphitheater at the beach

I can't believe we have never visited this beautiful area along the lake. The stone formations are gorgeous and the small nature trail gives lot's of info about the lake and the flora/fauna in the area. (ie, the lake is so deep that an earthquake could cause a tsunami) Make sure you go to the visitor's center which has a... More

This is a must-see place for families and couples. It has great views and is a great setting for photos! It is easy to reach as well. There is plenty of parking, although it could get crowded on a summer day, so you might want to get there early in that situation.
