What a beautiful place. If you are looking for something less crowded than the slopes, visit Spooner Lake. There are nice trails around the lake that are great for those not from the mountains who haven't acclimated yet. Majestic snow-draped trees. You can rent snowshoes at CVSports in Carson City near Highway 50.

Easily one of the most beautiful state parks in the country. No end things to look at or learn about.

This park is located just off of the highway and is very easy to access. It is a very peaceful place to stay for a bit, go for a walk, or just snap a few photos.

The best beach and Boat ramp on the Lake. We have our own special spot on the beach. You have to get there early. Big beach and smaller beaches in sand harbor. East side of tahoe

Sand Harbor is the best park on the lake. 180 degree views from the beach, also nice picnic area and boat ramp when the lake level adequate. On busy days park at the old school about the Village Market and take the bus.

I was here in June, and like everything in the area, I just reveled in the sheer beauty. Definitely with your time, and even better if you can manage to find time without the crowds.

My wife and I came here for our honeymoon in 2004 and have been back many times since. Not just for sentimental reasons - it really is one of the most beautiful places in America. We would come more often but we live 5,400 miles away and want to spread our trips across the pond to other parts of the... More

Be sure to see this lake in any season: popular ski area in winter, but lake partially freezes over. Parking is scarce. Restaurants and hotels are extremely expensive in winter. The narrow 2 lane highway around the lake takes about an hour and a half, slower in bad weather or when bicyclists are present (which they always are). Some great... More

Lake Tahoe is probably among the best in the nation to visit or live. The Nevada State Park has Sand Harbor for wonderful venues (including the Shakespeare and Broadway festivals) a great beach at Sand Harbor and also secluded beaches needing a hike down.....but more than worth the hike. "Your vacation is my home". Come and visit.

We had planned to stop in at Lake Tahoe State Park beach for a quick visit and picnic lunch. I am being upfront about the fact that we did not actually visit the park, we attempted to do so and there were a few things I wish I could have found out while researching this trip, so I will share...
