Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.

This is such a disappointment. We have stayed at and recommended The D so many times, and it was always wonderful. This weekend is the first time we've been since 2019, and we brought friends, and assured them what a wonderful time they would have and how great the hotel was. Man what a change. This plane is a sh*thole, and the staff is horrible. It's like the heart of the freaking ghetto. I was concerned about my wife walking around the inside of the hotel casino by herself. I mean this is horrible. I don't know if D put all of his money and interest in Circa and just left this plane to ruin or what, but do not waste your time and money to come here. You will definitely be disappointed and treated like you are not welcome or wanted.

The D casino has a great vibe! The music playing on the 1st level is energetic. There are beautiful dancing dealers on tables in the table gaming areas, plenty of friendly waitstaff, quick service and a huge assortment of great slot machines.
If it's too loud downstairs, check out the 2nd floor- plenty of slot machines and video poker. There is also a Sigma Derby Horse Racing Game that receives a lot of attention. High limit slots are also upstairs, which is newly remodeled.
Dining: Check out Andiamo Restaurant. I did a review on them also. Please check it out if you are looking for a nice dinner while in Vegas.
I have done very well on the slots machines at the D. My friends did good as well. What started out on the strip as straight losses turned around quickly at the D on the past 2 trips. The D will now be on our agenda when we go back again.
**I would also like to add that the restrooms in the casino were immaculate. The staff really is on top of their game! There was never a time that there was not an attendant in there cleaning.
All positives for the D Casino. We can't wait to go back!

First trip back to vegas post-pandemic. My wife and I were SO looking forward to staying at our favourite hotel in downtown, The D. After 31 clock hours of travel, we finally arrived at The D at about 4.30pm Vegas time. "Sorry, your room isn't ready". Really..?? This was a reservation made through Qantas reward points. We checked our bags into Concierge and ordered a drink at Long Bar. 20 minutes later we got a text, "Your room is ready". Great..!!! Little did we know that about 5 hours later, after having been awake for 36 hours, we'd return to our room ready for our first night's sleep, that it would be accompanied by the bands on Fremont Street right outside our window. I called the front desk. Long story short, we got a new room on the "quiet side" the next day. However, that was dependent on us having our bags packed and vacating the current room within an hour of the relocation approval. Thanks Derek..!! That experience, along with the general decline of the downtown experience, has made us conclude that any future 'experiences' in downtown Vegas will probably be the result of daytrips instead of extended overnight trips. It's the other side of the "You Get What You Give' coin, If that is what Vegas is giving, I'll be representative of what Vegas gets.

I spent 3 nights here in June and had a fantastic time! I mainly played here and across the street at Fremont. I loved the D's bars and games. I spent most of my time upstairs, but would've liked to have played more at The Long Bar.
The place has a great vibe. A lot of people don't like it and complain about the loud music. The music's not any louder than any other place downtown, and the music was all hits of the 70's, 80's and 90's. I enjoyed it.
The building is old, so the rooms are only going to be able to be renovated so much, but The D has done a good job modernizing it. My room looked good, I had a Deluxe King Corner room with a fridge and couch.
It's not a perfect property, but it is a pretty great one. I wish the room TV was bigger. I wish they had a 24hr coffee shop. But it's just small things like that. I'll be staying here again.

The rooms are barely a step above a Microtel. Despite the resort fee room is cleaned only on request and if they have staff and then you get two sets of towels and no more. No fridge or coffeemaker. Casino is hot too. Minimal staff, saw concierge at desk once in 4 days. If you are over 25 do not stay here. Cheap places, budget booze and crappy restaurants. Stay on the strip because that is where you will be going because options limited around here.

We were really excited about staying at The D, it came highly recommended by friends who we were traveling with. We stayed 5 nights total. The 1st night we froze because the AC unit kept blowing a fuse and wouldn't stay on. Day 2 it took several technicians several attempts to replace it with a working unit, only problem was that after being on for a few hours, it sounded like a helicopter. Days 3 and 4 were much of the same with no resolution. Our party of 4 extended our stay by 1 day due to a red-eye flight. Not only would they not reduce the resort fees for days 1 and 2, but we paid full price for both rooms for the extra day. They offered instead a $50 F&B room credit for 1 room. Lunch for 2 was nearly $60. The Manager didn't seem to care at all about the quality of their product (rooms), nor the inconvenience of having multiple technicians in and out of our room trying to repair the unit. In addition to all of that, my husband pulled back the bed covering and found something black in our bed.
A Housekeeper took the soiled cover, and returned with a clean one several hours later. Like I said we were really looking forward to staying at The D, but it was very likely our first and last stay. Really disappointed 🙄

Terrible, I’m 18 with a couple of friends (also 18) that came with 2 30+ persons. We was told that it’s okay if we go inside but not play or separate. A employee came later on and scanned our ID and said nothing, left and then we got asked by another employee. Said we are not allowed in here after we was told we were, and checked. 7 employees literally came out and kicked us out, huhhhh?? terrible terrible never again

I didn't win a dime here. I lost pretty much most of my allotted gambling budget here. But my wife and her friend did much better. However, I stopped gambling, and just kept drinking and smoking my cigar, and I noticed they played the best music of all the casinos we had been in. It made losing all my money slightly more bearable.

Way to loud music on overhead way louder than other casinos. Band outside plays 7 nights week until 2 am impossible to sleep. I asked for a quiet room I was on back side of hotel on 2;th floor it was like band was outside my door. Staff was not rude but was very unhelpful. Won’t stay there again

So my first thing I did when getting to Las Vegas was to catch the rtc bus from the airport to close to downtown. Anyways the reason was to redeem for $50match play by showing my swa boarding pass. Just goto the reward desk show your players card and valid I’d. Afterwards went to play some bubble craps there

Is there a bag check to store luggage if our outbound flight is late in the day?
Written 27 September 2019
Yes they do. It’s a small hotel but has all the amenities of a large hotel. I enjoy that place downtown a lot! Good luck!

does this hotel offer room service?? What is in the Suite rms , refrig coffee maker safe??
Written 17 March 2018
Not sure about the room service but, we just ordered from the cafe and brought it to the room. Fridge yes and safe yes. You won't find a coffee maker in any room. You have to buy from Starbucks or an expensive coffee stand by the elevators. Even the Golden Nugett is doing this coffee thing except they have in room coffee makers and no coffee. We just went to Walgreen's and brought k cups back to the room. Hope this helps.

Sorry I'm not sure. We only played KENO.
