Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Went here since I also have the Soar Momentum players card. Casino was quiet early int he morning, high roller room, definitely not giving any. Tried the penny machines and was able to get a couple of hundreds several times, which was great. Beverage server was easy, but only asked for water. Restaurants were quiet so did not eat here. The machines are a mix of old and new. The tables have low minimums. Staff and help is easy to find and they were amiable.

We stayed as a family of 4, two boys 11&9.

I would say it’s not overly family friendly but the kids enjoyed the pool when not being given into bother for playing in any way that upset staff. My youngest made what I assume is a major criminal act as he went to sit at an empty roulette table with no one at it…I only noticed as the screaming staff member alerted me, I swear I thought he tried to steal money, a simple “excuse me young man you need to be 18 to sit there” would have moved him. He wasn’t too fazed and actually said to me she could have just said, she didn’t need to shout. However it should be noted the youngest commented that it was his favourite hotel on our trip as he loved the pool.

We had a suit which was nice with separate lounge area. This is a godsend with kids as they can have one space for watching utube but we could be in lounge watching Netflix as the televisions can link to iPhones which was cool. Our toilet was blocked when we arrived and we got the nicest handy man, he should work as their customer service manager he was brilliant!!! One of two of the nicest people working in the hotel, everyone else we met had been rude! The handyman/maintenance man, whose name I sadly forget cos it was last month, was friendly and helpful, our telephone didn’t work and he went around the houses trying to work out who was responsible and trying to fix it. The other really nice man was cleaning the hallways, maybe rooms too not sure, he was so polite, smiling, helpful, really friendly.

I was stunned there was no coffee offerings in a suite. I mean tea/coffee tends to be standard so you would think paying for a suite you would get that.

The hotel itself is a fair stroll from main strip so in the heat it can feel a bit much for some but I was fine with it.

Overall, I would book it again, it was nice clean, everything in it over priced but I suspect this is vegas all over…vegas was cool to see but two or three days is enough, it’s over-rated if you ask me.

I visited Virgin 4 times during my 12 night stay in Vegas recently, both to gamble, and also to have a drink in their bar (the bar at commons club). Whilst it seemed obvious to me that the Virgin is not doing well in terms of customer numbers, this made for a relaxing experience for me, and provided exactly the type of off-strip gambling and leisure experience that I was seeking. (i.e. one that was not overly-crowded). I like the gambling floor layout. It is easy to navigate, and they have a sufficient (though not stellar) number of machines. The service at the bar at commons club (From memory, I think his name was Andrew) was excellent during the 4 nights that I had some drinks there, and I tipped accordingly. I did see a couple of rougher characters hanging out at the casino, and I also saw 3 girls who were very obviously "professionals" trawling the casino floor for customers, so that is something that I think the property needs to keep an eye on, to keep the vibe nice. Another thing that could be improved, is the fact that all the bars and restaurants seem to be leased to private companies, so you do not earn any points or credits for spending money in these. However, all in all I enjoyed my visits to Virgin, and I would visit again. I would visit, but I wouldn't stay there though. The reason being that they have made the stingy/silly decision of not even providing a fridge in the rooms (which basically every other off-strip property does), and also they are still trying to over-charge for their room rates, when compared to other off-strip property options. For the record, I usually stay at Tuscany, and it is much better value, and much better located, than Virgin. I think that Virgin's key mistake, has been to try and copy the on-strip corporates like MGM and Caesar's, instead of offering the off-strip value and experience, that such off-strip visitors expect, and would choose. Anyway, time will tell as to whether Virgin improves its service offerings to the point that will attract me (and more others) to stay there, or not. That is up to them.

Casino felt cold and uninviting. Lots of hard edges and it felt soulless. Not a place I would come back to, especially given that it is so far off the strip. Pass

Off the strip, and don't think I'd come back. The casino was boring and lacking in size compared to other casino's in Vegas. It was just very bland and lacked interest. We thought it would be something to see from the pictures we've seen online, but it was a disappointment.

This place was fun when it was Hard Rock...Now the Casino was boring and lacked any vibe at all. The pool was terrible and service was so subpar. I gave it a shot and I have to say, the Tribal takeover of a couple of Vegas hotspots is a huge failure thus far (Palms included, afraid to see what they do to Mirage). And they don't seem to really care that they don't measure up to other casinos or ones form the past. Rooms were nice, but the pool and casino force me to give this place two stars.

AVOID AT ALL COST
Worst ever
Mohegan is a great company, but they partnered with a ZERO
TORTURE CHAMBER
Dirty room nobody cares. $3.25 for cup of ice at pool
Disabled and taped over smoke detectors brought to their attention, no response. Pass the blame pass the buck. Can see it in the negative comments, they take NO REsponsiblity
Took an Uber every night to go and gamble and dreaded having to return there each night. I’ve contacted jet blue vacations, Mohegan Sun, Hilton curio and my lawyer
Btw $51.03 for resort fee per night
$8.67 for water, $3.25 for a cup of ice, and $10 at business center to print 4 boarding passes. Thank you for the 15% off spa purchases my 89-year-old uncle wasn’t very interested
This place is a ZERO, a disgrace and embarrassment on all levels

You would think that this hotel would be similar in excellence to its sister The Mohegan Sun Connecticut, but the Mohegan Sun Casino at Virgin Hotel Las Vegas is far from it, particularly in the areas of housekeeping, security, and decor. On our return to our room one afternoon, we were surprised to find a wrapped bagel sandwich on the dresser. It might have been housekeeping who left it behind ( and why would they be having lunch in our room), but maybe someone else was in our room? Thinking it right to report it, we made 3 phone calls and waited 3 1/2 hours for security to come to our room to file a report. The decor was meant to be hip and modern, but in fact it came off as chintzy. For example, in the "luxurious" bathroom, the 6 foot long shower area had a door on one end and the faucets on the other end meaning you had to walk 4 or 5 steps to get to the faucet and then hide under the shower head to avoid getting wet. The carpeting in the hallways was dirty, stained, and threadbare in spots- probably a leftover from the Hard Rock before it. From check in (being placed next to an icemachine after we specifically asked not to be) to check out (when we were charged for a mini bar that was empty when we arrived at our room) there was an assortment of errors. A lot wrong on many levels. On the bright side, the spa and pools were very nice, and the restaurants within were very good. And it is a healthy but doable walk to the strip. The staff did try hard to compensate for all the problems we had. All in all, a "wanna be" hotel with a way to go.
