Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We did not stay at the Fremont Hotel but we visited the casino quite a bit. We are sports book people and there are not a lot of options downtown but the Fremont has a great sportsbook. There are lots of TV's and individual tv's for horse racing. The counter folks were very impressive and provided lots of help. This sports book offers drink tickets based on the amount someone bets and the sign telling you the amounts is right in front of you when you make a bet. I thoroughly enjoyed my visits to the Fremont sports book.

Spent quite a few hours here on our last night in Vegas. Sat down to try a nickel slot and ended up being there for quite a long time with some great winnings (which I didnt expect at this casino). Found the cocktail waitresses to be all over and willing to help. Yes, its smoky, but found I had my best lucky here over all the other casinos I visited over my 3 day visit.

We love the casino at the Fremont. The rooms are small in size but very clean. Easy to get to the restaurants and would recommend all of them. Paradise Buffet is wonderful. Breakfast and Dinner the have a super assortment . They also have a Duncan Donuts. and Tony Roma's is wonderful as always. The slots are loose during the week. They also have live Keno and you can watch it in your room. You can also request a coffee pot and/or a refrigerator. This is a wonderful addition. The bell men are very helpful and super nice. Please try them out if you get downtown. You won't regret it.

First, it is NOT the most beautiful, not the most lavish, not the biggest, etc... but that's why I gave it for instead of five rating. If you want plush, go to a higher end Strip casino, but it'll cost you.
Fremont is my favorite for so many reasons, but mainly because the staff is (are?) AMAZING - so friendly and pleasant and seem genuinely nice, which is a rare commodity anywhere and particularly in Vegas.
Their cocktail waitresses are, by far, the best. Maria, Marilu, Marian, Rachel, Laurie (sorry, I can't remember all the names).... The wife and I love them all and actually stay downtown specifically because of them. No, I'm not joking. When I gamble, I like to drink; start the night with a few whiskeys, work my way up the alcohol ladder to Irish coffees, then prep for bed around 3-4 am with a couple of Baileys. These wonderful women are always nearby and always make time for a pleasant word or - if you prefer - they will quickly and silently leave you a beverage so as not to interrupt your lucky streak. They are simply the greatest and there aren't enough superlatives to describe them.
The craps dealers are all very good. They run the tables as quickly as possible and actually watch out for the regulars (remind you to pick up chips, hold your place when you need to leave the table, advise you on odds bets, etc...) I often see mistakes at other casinos with fewer players, but the people at Fremont Casino dice tables are always on their toes.
And you can find just about any level of play you want; $3 craps (sometimes) $5 card games and plenty of low-roller games for those who don't want to gamble much. But if you do want to bet the farm, you can probably wager as much as you want.
I can't comment on the comp's because I've never bothered to check my balance. I don't need an enticement to gamble; If I can afford it I go. I worry far more about my bankroll and I invariably come out a winner more often at Fremont than anywhere else in Vegas.
So if you want a great place to play that has good odds and GREAT employees, you owe it to yourself to try the Fremont.

The Fremont casino is old Las Vegas with all the bright lights and excitement. A good casino to visit with plenty of places to eat.

We visited Fremont Street one evening during our short visit to Las Vegas. It is one of the older original streets and casinos but the street itself has had a roof built over and is more like strolling around a modern shopping mall than a street. At 9,10 and 11pm there is a music/light show that is displayed across the roof. This is really entertaining and sometimes very exhilarating depending on which song is being played. When we visited the songs were "Bye Bye Miss American Pie" and then an hour latera medley of Queens Greatest hits which was really good.
There are lots of gift/souvenir shops ,bars and an original Casino the Golden Nugget. I believe that Fremont Street was also the setting for the car chase in the Bond film, Diamonds are Forever!
On the whole a place I would recommend visiting !

Played slots most of the night, won and lost. The atmosphere on Freemont street is much better than the strip. Walk from casino to casino with your drink and half the people traffic than on the strip. We had a better time on Freemont street than we did on the strip.

Was at the Fremont Casino in 2007 playing the few $5 slots they have there...over the course of 2 days, we won $9200 on the slots alone!!!
Table games are popular, always something going on at the tables. Reasonable minimum bets on Blackjack (saw it as low as $3).
Great comps, very friendly, down-to-earth staff...drink service was a little sparse, but only at busy times, understandably.
Overall a great experience!

Stayed at the Fremont during Memorial Day weekend with my girlfriend. We chose to stay on Fremont Street because we had a good time here during our last trip to Vegas.
When we first arrived, there was no valet person to be found. And the electricity was out at the hotel, but the Fremont couldn't be blamed for that since power was out in the whole neighborhood. Check in was slow even though there was no one ahead of me. The front desk agents weren't very professional looking or even courteous. We got to our room, end of a hall. The door always would slam loudly behind anyone coming or going from the room. The room itself was what we expected for the price. The bed was comfortable and the room clean, but nothing special about the room. The bathroom is small, but clean. And the toilet was a one of those kinds of toilets you'd find in a public restroom complete with a horse shoe seat. The shower head was also one of those small high pressure ones you find in gym locker rooms.
The casino itself was a bit cramped. Very smokey, but I think we got used to the odor after the first day. The slots were very tight, did not pay out anything. If I came down to play $40, i'd lose $40. There was no such thing as breaking even. And the cocktail waitresses were hard to find. The buffet was ok. I enjoyed the breakfast, didn't enjoy the dinner buffet though.
Check out was also horribly slow. I was over billed, but the guy checking me out didn't want to say that i was over billed. He didn't seem to know much about what he was doing, but did end up having to credit my card. I don't know why they had this problem, I reserved the room through their own website, not some 3rd party site. He couldn't even tell me what my room rate was during my stay. Rediculous. When asked for a printout of my bill, he would not give me anything until I argued with him for about 10 minutes he reluctantly gave me a print out of the charges.
Overall, the room was fine, the casino and hotel staff not so great. I won't be returning to stay here again. I might come back for a 99cent margarita if I'm ever on the Fremont Street again.

They removed all of the .25 coin in video poker machines leaving a few dollar versions. Poor decision, we normally play 4-5 hours a day here on those machines...this trip we spent a half hour. I get it, coin-in machines are expensive to service...but you can go to Main Street Station or the El Cortez and get what you want...so we did.
Frankly, I have nothing else to say....

Does The Freemont still have .50 cent Treasure Chest poker that pays in coins (opposed to TITO)?
