Review of: Go-Karting at Gene Woods Racing Experience
Whoa! The track was so much fun. We had a 5th grader, and three 7th graders. The boys had a blast. I went and asked if I should buy the groupon. They gave me a better price than the groupon on site. 4 rides for 44 dollars. We loved the staff and they were very attentive to the young men. They asked us if we wanted the boys to go full speed, 3/4 speed, or half speed. We said FULL speed of course. The star of the show is the house dog named Cowboy. He doesn't drive but he is super nice and the boys liked him. Parking was odd but fee. The crowd was minimal. The setting was amazing with the strip as the backdrop!…

Review of: Go-Karting at Gene Woods Racing Experience
This was our first time visiting the Gene Woods Racing Experience. My pre-teen loves go karts and so this was a must visit for us. We found some deals on Groupon and so we visited twice while on our trip to Vegas. My son and husband had a great time on the track. They show you a safety video before you hop onto a go kart. They also have a very helpful track staff person who prep you before the racing starts. They are very friendly and we will be back again.…

So I just wrote my review and at the end found that I was twice as long as allowed here on Trip Adviser, so...... I'll do it again in bullet point, lol! Pros- Challenging, well laid out track with banked corners Con- No straightaways and concrete surface, NO timing or scoring, very slippery in the heat and wind Pro- Karts steering wheel and steering good Con- Steering tie rods rubbed on my legs Pro- Karts better than they look Con- I don't think they reach 45 MPH Pro- Good displays at the facility and good viewing for spectators Con- Bathroom!! General layout of facility confusing, no one to really ask where to go. Pro- Fairly good helmet selection Con- No sizes marked for helmets, visors are garbage and mostly falling off, balaclavas not one time use, yuk! Pro- Staff friendly when you can find them, take it seriously Con- I had read that they don't really let people race out here, from a lot of reviews, but for myself, even though I lapped everyone 2-3 times left us alone. Pro- easy access to the track by car or cab, bus and walking. Only 2 miles down the Strip from the Mandalay Bay Con- Come on Gene Woods Racing, not everyone arrives by vehicle, have some proper signage on Sunset for people walking so that they don't walk an extra 15 minutes in 100 degrees, and can clearly see where to enter the facility!!!! Pro- Go check it out if your with your family, relatives, or kids Con- Don't go if your a serious Karter, well, maybe go once, just to check it out for yourself! …

Review of: Go-Karting at Gene Woods Racing Experience
I went with my wife and we watched the safety video and the guys there were very friendly and helpful and we got on-track with about six other people. Unfortunately, after about 7 or 8 fun laps we were all pulled off the track and the guy mumbled something about dangerous driving or something. I was very surprised by this as my wife drove very carefully as it was her first time in a go-kart and I zipped around and cleanly overtook a couple of the other karts. I saw one or two other drivers spin but nobody hit anybody as far as I could tell, because we were all quite spread out after only a short time. I follow F1 racing very closely and understand the need for safety and the importance of passing cleanly etc. but I still don't understand why we were all told to stop. I suppose if you all pootle around at a sedate speed without overtaking you'd probably be allowed your full allocation of laps. That would hardly be a "racing experience" as suggested by their title. Overall - it WAS fun while it lasted.…
