    After visiting the Atomic Museum
Enjoyed this historic place that was in a rough part of town but didn't feel afraid at any time. Dean, the bartender, made an amazing standout Negroni. The interior was dark and they played a variety of music from the late 70's onward. Exterior patio was very nice. Fair prices.

    Historical Drinking Joint
We came here to drink at the oldest establishment in Las Vegas and glad we did! A great little pub with reasonable prices, we soaked in the history and had a great conversation with our bartender, Dean. Drinks were good and all was well. I look forward to returning someday!

Great historical bar… a must in downtown Vegas! (9th and Fremont area).
I was looking for something different to see/do in downtown Vegas. We loved this historical bar. Two of us scouted it out around noon when Dean was working. Dean was personable and informative. We wanted to return when he was working. However, our timing was off with him. (It’s open for lunch, so the hours that were posted on line were wrong) . It was very dark inside, an atomic bomb floor lamp in the corner, lots of articles to read about it being the oldest free standing bar in Vegas. “ Pouring license “ liquor license was No. 1. Streisand, Eastwood, Rat Pack, etc used to hang out there after their shows. There’s even a chair with a star noting Streisand spot! There’s a hole in the floor where the safe used to be with whiskey and a gun under glass. Dean had told us the pizza was awesome, so we ordered that to eat. It was Detroit style and tasted great. We had to order an Atomic drink….so we chose the Atomic Horizon which we really enjoyed. Our server was good, maybe cussing a bit more than we expected. Obviously just her nature. She recommended the burgers. So, next year, we might try the burgers. I’d highly recommend going there, taking it all in and ordering a drink , looking at the outside view visualizing the bombs going off out in the desert. It’s pretty cool.

    Atomic Liquors Downtown Vegas
Las Vegas bucket list for 10 years and did not disappoint. Met the owner and his staff, and they were friendly, courteous, and gracious. Drinks were well poured. You won't find this on the strip, so take time and Uber over if you want more than the same ole same ole. Worth it.

    Authentic Vegas
A couple of blocks south of the casinos in downtown Vegas, this bar caters to the local crowd. Patrons used to watch atomic test explosions in the desert from the roof - that’s how it gets its name. Inside, it’s dark and cool with great bar tenders and a fun crowd. They were getting ready to shoot a movie scene while we there - the bar is already featured on Casino and Hangover. A refreshing dose of real during a trip to Vegas downtown!

    Since 1952
Atomic Liquors is a historic bar located in downtown Las Vegas, Nevada. According to what I’ve heard patrons could enjoy drinks and watch atomic bomb tests from the nearby Nevada Test Site. This unique experience of watching the mushroom clouds rise in the distance gave the bar its name, "Atomic Liquors." Atomic Liquors holds the oldest tavern license in Las Vegas. I grabbed a local beer (Atomic Duck from Able Baker) before heading to Binions Steakhouse on Freemont Street. Simple decent experience for a quick afternoon beer.

Stopped by to say we did!
We were told about Atomic Liquors by a friend and felt we needed to visit to say that we were there. The history of the location makes it worth the stop. We had one drink and appreciated the outdoor seating area. The inside is dark and themed to align with the history. Definitely worth a quick stop!

What attracted us was it holds the oldest Las Vegas liquor license - 00001. Established in the early 1950's, it takes its name from people sitting on the roof to watch the early nuclear bomb tests in the desert. Definitely a dive bar feeling - very dark inside - but great drinks, great bar food (burgers were delish!) and great people working there. Got the whole history of the place. Has outside dining. Singles, couples and a corporate function going on when we were there. A can't miss spot in downtown Vegas!

The oldest bar in Vegas is worth a visit just to say you have been there and feel the history of the bar.

If I were writing the review based on it just being a bar then it would be a 1 out of 5 because it is dark and dingy and the beer was terrible.

However, when you look at the history of the bar and what it represents, then sitting in the bar and having a drink in a place where people used to watch Atom bombs go off is quite cool.

There weren't many people in the bar when we got there but the doorman told us they can get up to 700 people and they get really busy on Saturdays which would potentially change the dynamic of the atmosphere.

You turn up at the bar and enter through a doorway, if the doorman isn't there you have to ring a bell to get in, when you go in the bar is quite dark, almost like a nightclub feel. There are plenty of drink choices with draft and canned beers and then numerous sprits and cocktails. The prices are reasonable compared to everywhere else I had been too.

Unfortunately, it seems that no one knows where it is if you ask anyone. We were asking for the Atomic Bar but hotel staff and even the taxi driver didn't know.

Make sure you ask for Atomic Liquors and give the address as it isn't advertised.

However, as I said above, when you look at the history of the bar it is worth a visit even if it is just for a drink.

The staff are also very friendly..make sure you take ID because even if you look 70 the doorman needs to see it.

Popped in on a Saturday afternoon for a quick drink and ended up staying all night - it's that sort of place. Great place to get a taste of "old Vegas", chat with friendly bar staff and bump into fellow drinkers (quite literally as it's pretty dark in there!) Highlight of our excursion Downtown and a lot more fun than drinking on the Strip

I read a book about the secret history of Area 51. The test pilots and CIA agents working on covert projects at the base used to come to Atomic Liquors to watch the nuclear detonations in the distance. Great history. Upon visiting it was everything I hoped it would be and more. Great atmosphere, great servers and a better setting. Their beer selections were awesome. Get a boilermaker and sit on the patio and enjoy the people watching.

A little bit of history. If you like your beer and want a good place with friends or groups this is a great choice. Just outside the Fremont Street melee in old Las Vegas, it has a good vibe, old style juke box and great drinks selection. Great to read the history on the walls. Note: This is not a cocktail bar that you would get dressed up for. This is a 'real' bar.

This, not so little, hole in the wall is the best place to be to drink some liquor and get an authentic feel of Vegas. Seems like more people are getting hip because it was more crowded than the last visit. So, maybe I should erase this review? No, they deserve it. And you deserve it to yourself to saddle up and have a few.

I’d seen this place on you tube several times and was very intrigued! I was not disappointed. We went during the day and it was very quiet but the guy (I think his name was Dean) was amazing helped us pick a beer we would like and cane over to have a chat with us and told us about the bar he was lovely so thank you for that. We only had one drink and had to go as we had so much to pack in to our trip but could have stayed all day quite happily
