Beautiful area along the Truckee river
Beautiful area to walk along the river. The loveliest part of downtown Reno. You can walk for mikes along the river or find a bench to sit and watch the river flow. The air is fresh and cool along the river. I recommend walking here.

A Pleasure Even in Cold Weather
This area is a pleasure even in cold weather. The river rushes by, fascinating. Bridges, parks, places to sit, entertainment venues, and all around some of the coolest eating and drinking in town. Right downtown too.

    Japanese restaurant smell!
We were on the 7th floor in the Sierra or Tower at El Dorado There is a Japanese restaurant near the elevator to go up to rooms. The smell was awful and very strong. we could smell it in our room and it was worse at night. The bedding and our clothes reeked of the food odor. It make me sick!

Loved the scenery in this area but seeing the large amount of homeless folk leaves you thinking if the state can provide more resources for these affected folk. The walk itself is very nicely set up with benches and art and close to some shops and restaurants. focus on the western side away from town where less homeless are. We found easy free parking on the street 2 blocks away from the walk.

We went to the Riverwalk after buying lunch to have a picnic near the water. On the way, a mentally ill man took a swing at us and chased us around near the arch. By the time we got to the Riverwalk we thought we were safe but he came back and threw down a garbage can next to us.

Typically I have no problem with homeless people gathering but due to this we felt extremely unsafe.

So the river area itself is very beautiful but we walked it and basically its home too many transients. So it smells awful like urine and poop as you walk alongthe trail. People are openly handling their business outside we unfortunately witnessed 😒 some very yucky stuff. We did also witness some youth out there providing meals which was nice. But probably not family friendly.

What a dump! Reno is a city that has given up, and nowhere is that more apparent than at the Riverwalk.
Homeless people have overrun all of the public spaces and the detritus of camping, bathing and general residential activities is everywhere.
The odor of urine near the "Believe" letter sculpture was overpowering. Please don't consider this to be a family appropriate place.

Walking along the river in downtown Reno is a delightful way to spend a few hours. There are many restaurants that are serving outside. On very hot days it is refreshing to go swimming or tubing down the Truckee river.

#Home Means Shop along the river. Small locally owned shop along your walk of the river.... My there are sooo many small quaint shops.

Warm, welcoming, friendly, and most essentially accessible and affordable. The gentleman at the counter was available for any sizing, pricing, best gift buy advice. #WestCoast #AmexsmallbusinessSaturday2023

While I was visiting and the shop was directly (almost) across from our residence it was a convenient 2 min walk. Before I forget check out the antique cars in the elevator

Ok, There an @IG spot in the back to take a selfie!
There a wonderful selection of home items to gift or keep for yourself.
Knick knacks, journals, glasses, cards, soooo many selections.

Sweat shirts, t shirts, and more.
A must visit

Best part of my day Petting Molly the BEAUTIFUL dog - for who i didnt see until another female shopper started talking to her. It was the most therapeutic part of my shopping day.
A + Must visit and definitely you'll find something for someone or most importantly "you" Enjoy fellow travelers.... #Brooklyn Proud!

I enjoyed my brief walk over the Truckee River. There were many bridges and I could even put my hand in the water. This walkway was in Downtown Reno. There were a lot of homeless people nearby but no one harassed me.

This was a great walk. In my country, we have tons of rubbish lining the river banks. Here you still have trash but so much less. It feels as if the trash is managed. Amazing to walk through a city centre following a beautiful river.
