Pack a lunch and eat near the river. Restrooms are clean. Not busy and easy to socially distance during pandemic. The ruins were a super easy walk and were quite interesting. The surrounding mountain views were beautiful.

Made it quick. Drove from Highway 50 on the dirt road. Scenic view with cows, test tract and river. Visited with grandson and he wanted to walk down to ruins. Guess what? We did and he was the one who was hot and tired. Drove through picnic area and camping area. Nice early spring or late fall activity for further discovery. …

Nice museum and a good walk about the old fort, Old nevada history. Campground is ok ruff camp bring your own stuff. would go there again.

I could almost imagine the tall wooden walls that the soldiers would have had to protect themselves. The layout of the place, the "boot hill" cemetery. Just a step back in history.
