A Visual Beauty!

This church stands out more than anything in Virginia City and is such a gorgeous sight. Still standing after all these years is remarkable.

Beautiful church! I have been wanting to visit Virginia City for years. I loved the stained glass windows in the church as well as the history. Good museum. Well worth the visit.

It's the Wandering Yank here. Mrs. Yank and I took a day trip to Virginia City yesterday. We've been there numerous times, but it's been maybe 10 years. We had visited the church before, but didn't remember it very well. It is very impressive! I'm saying this as someone who visited uncounted churches in France and Italy in recent years,... More

The beautiful stained glass window and Gothic architecture in the main sanctuary are worth the stop inside. The photogenic spires and wings on the outside make this a nice addition to your photo collection. And the museum around the side has a lot of rich history and information regarding Virginia City with a guide that really helps flesh out the... More

The hand hewn Gothic beams of redwood and cedar are breathtaking! While I have seen Gothic beams of stone, I was overwhelmed by the beauty of these wooden beams. The pews are also hand carved . And ahhhh, the stain glass windows are deep blues, greens, red, yellow. They will take your breath away. There is also a small gift... More

Old active church, with some modern touches. Has limited parking, museum in on the side on the lower level. Next to school.

A member of the clergy was very helpful, and gave us quite a lovely tour. The museum is definitely worth seeing as well!

We visited St. Mary's in the Mountains Catholic Church twice in the last year. The first time last September, we were taking a tour of the church and museum, while our son and his then fiancee' met with the priest. The museum is small but filled with a multitude of historic items that are fascinating and the church volunteer had... More

You can se St Mary's for miles, and the view from the church is wonderful. There is an interesting museum and gift shop inside the beautiful church.
