Has some really neat and interesting antiques to set you in the old feeling of the way it was back in Virginia City's prime! Medicine bottle, lamps, clothes, men's tea cups that have a place so their mustache doesn't get dirty. So interesting to see! Also huge visiual of all the mines and tunnels here. Really is amazing. Hard to... More

This museum is really more like an antique store but you can't touch or buy any of the antiques. There is a LOT of stuff to see and I must admit there were a couple of things that made me very excited (like when I figured out the weird little dishes I acquired years ago and use as butter dishes... It was just the way it was. No better no worse. It could have been the best of times or the worst of times but it was just what it was. Wasn't it.

This museum has a little bit of everything in it. You can get a feel for the various elements of the mining life and everyday activities in the min-1800's Virginia City. Though they could use a "fresh coat of paint" you will want to take the time to watch the videos. They aren't too long and do have a lot... More

This museum is located on the north end of town as you enter from Reno. Admission is $3/person and is self paced. The museum is packed with displays and artifacts inside. Outside there are numerous displays to see, including a working water wheel. Inside there is a diorama of a mine and how it works (out of service when we... More

The Tour is only $3.00 and is self paced. They have short movies that gives you a full description Mining and all the history of Virginia city.

We enjoyed our visit tremendously. Affordable and so much to see in a great setting, informative for anyone who wants to know more about Virginia City's history. If you're not so into museums, even just walking through gives you some idea how things used to be.

This is a very interesting museum and well worth the time to visit. My wife and I visited during the week and were able to park right in front of the museum. On a holiday or even a summer weekend parking could be a problem.

It's really rare that you get to see anything worthwhile for a few bucks but this place rocks! Lots of neat stuff. I especially liked the mine tunnels diorama. Pretty impressive when you realize how many miles of tunnel there are in this area.
