The Brick Store has been in business since at least 1790, making it America's oldest continuously operated general store. It is located in Bath, New Hampshire -- a quintessential New England village including the town common with war memorial, the picturesque white steepled church, and three historic covered bridges. As a true general store, The Brick Store offers a little bit of everything including Nancy's delicious homemade fudge, and their nationally famous Jim's Smokehouse products.

This is the second time we have been to the Brick Store. We were here several years ago, and we had to come back when in the area once again. You must taste the smoked pepperoni, cheese, and summer sausage to believe! The car smells a little smoky, but it is a heavenly smell. They also have a mail order... More

The original general store that serves a very small town. Has grocerirs, dry goods, and a few tourist related stuff like fudge. Saw a local come in for bread and milk, so still serves customers after 100 years.

We stopped on our way to visit a friend, and found the The Brick. We did purchase some real maple syrup, and some snacks. My husband did try the fudge, and thought it was like most fudge that you get in these types of stores. It was nice looking at some of the old memorabilia collection on the upper shelves.... More

Real, old wood floors, shelves, ceiling deco. Even has some original late 19th/early 20th century advertising painted on the outside (hard to read, but visible).

The Brick store is the oldest continuously running general store in America. They offer a little bit of everything, the smoked pepperoni is out of this world. They offer one of the most unique selections of fudge I have seen, along with general grocery items and fresh baked goods.

I give this 5 stars because it does not rip off the tourist buying New England products. I bought a pint of maple syrup that was $5-7 cheaper than other price-gouging outlets. The store has a bit of everything including Brick Store shirts, sweatshirts, et al. Besides the unique food items and products, you can pick up a quart of... More

They had it all from paraffin bottles of sweet syrup like I bought as a kid at the candy store to samples of fudge, cheese & sausage to whimsical socks & pjs! A fun stop to buy local postcards. Be sure to stop in the beautiful old church just around the corner.

Probably worth a stop if you are driving by. Nice old store. I was looking forward to blueberry fudge but they were sold out. Lot of souvenir stuff as well as a few staples.

We found this quite by accident on the way back from Franconia Notch. The exterior immediately caught our attention, and we were lured inside out of curiosity. Inside was a full array of provisions! There was food, clothing, home furnishings and a plethora of sundries! Of course we investigated the goods. The proprietor was happy to share the store's history... More
