We have built a routine when we drive to Margaret River from Perth with Fraser Gallop being the first winery we visit. My intention was to taste a couple of new release wines but spent the best part of the afternoon tasting Fraser Gallop's excellent offerings. Paula, was very attentive to our needs and although my wife was designated driver, ensured that she was not forgotten. The new 2022 release cabernet merlot is going to be an exceptional wine. And all this in such a wonderful setting.

We love to return to Margaret River each winter for a few days wine tasting. Fraser Gallop has become a favourite cellar door. There is always a warm welcome to this cozy venue. The staff are knowledgeable and make the experience enjoyable. The wines here are excellent and on this visit we were able to taste reds from the great 2018 vintage and of course take some home. We highly recommend a visit

Last weekend we toured a number of wineries in the Margaret River area of Western Australia, always a treat and something to work into any WA vacation! My favourite tasting was at the Fraser Gallop Estate winery - the wines were very good and Peter, the sommelier, made it a truly delightful experience. He is knowledgeable, personable, engaging, and just a lovely person to spend time with while sipping excellent wines. Peter often set us up with two wines to taste side by side - perhaps oaked/unoaked, or 2013/2018 vintages of the same wines - which made for a more interesting experience.
If you go, and I highly recommend that you do, be aware that there can be an up charge ($5) for some of the more expensive vintages.
Have a look at the fancy new Italian machine that controls the temperature of the wines you are tasting while serving out a calibrated amount for you to sip.

We had not booked for a tasting session, but they accommodated for us with no fuss.
Beautiful wine and lovely winery. Even my husband and son joined in with the session and ended up buying a lovely red wine.

We were fortunate to have ‘Peter’ working on Sunday morning. Extremely knowledgeable and passionate about wines! We enjoyed our tasting and felt like we went away with more knowledge than what we came in with!
They offer wine clubs to suit individual needs, and support the winery, and region.
I enjoyed the ‘ice Chardonnay’ which I believe is exclusive to this winery in the region. It is a dessert wine, and a must try.

Ice pressed Chardonnay - yes, it's the only one made in the region, and totally delicious with blue cheese!

Michele was the perfect guide in a very exclusive and personal wine tour at the estate. Highly recommended. Very small groups of max 7, and we were lucky as it was only us which made it even more unforgettable. Best of luck the 31st in an ideal and perfect setting!

Warmly welcomed by one of the most knowledgeable person I think we’ve had the pleasure of being in the company of. It wasn’t just the token ‘tasting’ speel that you normally receive, it became a lesson in wine that makes you pay attention and realise ‘you know nothing Jon Snow’.
Well just go ahead and try the ‘iced’ Chardonnay. Thank you Studio Bistro for pointing us in the right direction by serving their wines. Love and we will be back.

Winemaker Clive Otto's knowledge and passion for his craft made this stop a highlight of our Margaret River visit. Thank you Clive for sharing so much information and for letting us sample your wonderful wines. We will take memories of you and Fraser Gallop home to California and share them with all our friends.

There's no need to book for a tasting, we're open 11am to 4pm daily and would love to have you visit.
We don't offer lunch (we don't have a restaurant) but there are several excellent winery restaurants nearby.
