At the beginning of June we hiked the Falling Waters Trail to Little Haystack to Mount Lincoln to Mount Lafayette to the Greenleaf hut and then down via the Old Bridle path. We got on trail at 5:45 am and off trail at 1:15- so...More

Hiked up from Franconia Notch on the Falling Waters Trail to Little Haystack. Views were amazing! Then we headed across the ridge to Mt. Lincoln and Mt. Lafayette on a very warm September day. It was a great hike! We stopped at the Greenleaf Hut...More

The best hikes in the White Mountains are those that go above the treeline. I came up from Galehead Hut, but you could make a long day hike out of it. From the direction I came, there were about eight (very convincing) false summits, so...More

Great hike and a nice Blondie at Greenleaf Hut. Great views and company. After all the crazy rain surprising how good the trails were. Got your feet wet on Falling Waters river crossings and that was it.

Plan a full day. Keep an eye on the weather. This hike offers fantastic views and a challenge. Bring water, food, and extra layers. You get warm climbing up but then the top can be chilly. Very exposed on top. Will do again.

The most amazing thing I've ever done. We had a group of ladies, ages 30 to 50, going at a leisurely pace with frequent stops, and averaged about 7 hours round trip. The trail along the ridge is unbelievable. You really feel like your walking...More

Great day with boyfriend and dog. This hike is strenuous. Bring lots of water and some food for you and your pooch. Some great waterfalls and brookes in the first mile, but after...up you go! Be prepared to climb. This trail is really popular because...More

I have hiked the loop that includes Little Haystack, Lincoln, and Lafayette three times. It is absolutely gorgeous along the Franconia Ridge. You can also just hike directly up to Lafayette and back. Be sure to stop at the AMC Greenleaf Hut to get a...More
