Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Lebrun General Store at the entrance to Maskinonge. Parking right outside. Smiling welcome explaining the history of the place. It is a museum, a shop and an upstairs performance hall. Charming setting taking you back to a time ...

This general store is divided into two sides: the actual shop (with a music venue upstairs) and a café. The building still has original floors and counters from the 1900, and the café is even older yet. The museum portion of it was kept and you can find all sorts of handmade sweets and decorations. The staff was extremely welcoming and the food was lovely.

This general store dates back to the early 19th century and still showcases items that you would have found in a general store more than a century ago. There are several interesting items for sale and you can spend quite a bit of time looking around. On the second floor is an area where local musicians give shows on selected dates. Our group of 14 people, including a toddler and two children, were there for brunch on a Sunday and we were given our own private room with an old piano, old furniture, and a library, all of which adding to the uniqueness and time-traveling experience. The a-la-carte menu offers a good selection and the food is good. The service is outstanding!

We go regularly with friends and family. Good food, great terrasse to rest and discover a world of antiques. Kids will appreciate old-fashioned candies. There is something for everyone and this is an amazing place for shows.

What a charming place. We were on our way back from The Chutes Sainte-Ursule and decided to explore. We found it by accident but would definitely go back. They were about to close the shop but told us to take our time. Staff was very friendly to us and one lady even kept an eye on our dog outside while we grabbed a coffee.
Love the cute outdoor Lemonade stand, great coffee and desserts!

We stopped here on our drive on the Chemin du Roy from Qubec City to Montreal. What was intended to be a quick bathroom stop turned into a 2 hour visit. This place was so cool. The general store was like stepping back in time, packed full of genuine items you'd find in a general store in the 1800s. The owner was amazing, sharing the story of the store and building, even demonstrating the player piano in the upstairs dance hall. We ate lunch in the attached restaurant/cafe. The food was wonderful and you couldn't beat the ambiance this place offered. Our time here turned into one of the highlights of our trip.

We had a nice lunch in this old general store from turn of 20th century. Very nice furnished with antiques and items for sale corresponding to the era. Food is regional terroir food. Employees are in period costumes. You can eat outside too. Worth the detour!
