Squam Lakes Natural Science Center is a fun and enlightening place for everyone to enjoy. Here at the Science Center, we house and exhibit many different wild animals, including river otters, mountain lions, bobcats, deer, bears, birds, foxes, and skunks. The wild animals at Squam Lakes Natural Science Center are ambassadors of their species, here for the purpose of educating our visitors about New Hampshire's natural world. Most are orphaned, injured, or otherwise unable to survive in the wild. Observing these animals up-close, together with experiencing our hands-on exhibits, offers visitors the opportunity to develop a deeper understanding of our native wildlife and appreciation of the natural world.

The Science Center's exhibits are very special and educational. The animal enclosures are on about a 3/4 mile trail through the woods in natural settings: mountain lions, bears, bobcats, otters, etc. Each exhibit has educational material to further the experience. Great environment for kids including a new interactive play area. The loon cruise was also wonderful. We saw several loon... More

Winter shoeshoe hikes are the best seeing all the animals in their winter habitat: Bear, mountain lions, otters, etc.

We were advised to make reservations and we did, had a great cruise around the lake with a great guide, explaining about the islands, wildlife, etc.

Horrible experience! We traveled 3 hours one way and were told we should have made a reservation. We were very disappointed because the website only vaugley hints at reservations .The Marketing and Vistor Services manager stated to me the Cruise is very popular should have made a reservation because it fills up quick. We were there over an hour early... More

Very cold, but informative walk through the active winter animals exhibits! Wear extra warm clothes, but enjoy the river otters belly flopping down the snow banks!

Thanks for writing a review! It certainly was a cold winter but all of our animals were dressed for it. The river otters love to slide in the snow and provide such an entertaining sight. We hope you'll be back to visit us again soon - maybe this summer with warmer weather? :-) All the best, Amanda Gillen Marketing and... More

Our first time, we have no kids and was still very informative if you like animals and nature was a nice day, nice walks, great animals you don't see on a regular basis. Not just for kids. Give a try. Nice area of Squam Lakes, cute gift shop.

We went there as a nice way to spend a couple of hours in nature. It has a nice combination of low level hiking trails and wild animals that are no longer able to live in the wild. Most of the animal enclosures are really wonderful habitats for the animals that can't be rehabilitated with the exception of the Barred... More

The staff was awesome. Very helpful. The trails were well maintained and clean. My son loved seeing all of the animals. The Gordon Children's Center was so much fun. It was interactive with slides and tunnels. I can't wait to go back and see the expansions.

We stumbled across the Center by chance. It was an interesting place to spend a few hours. The 'main attraction' for us was seeing the bears. Great place for kids as it is educational and fun.

We go to this zoo every year in the summer when we stay at Squam Lake. It is laid out really well and fun to walk around and see the animals, birds and reptiles. The black bear are some of our favorites. Kids will love it. It is a nice break from the water sports going on at the lake.
