My husband and I vacationed in Franconia, NH during the 4th of July. We found the area to be quite refreshing. Low crowds, beautiful mountain areas with gorgeous views. We chose to hike to Franconia Falls and it was a pleasant walk for most of...More

Beautiful area. Enjoyed hiking and discovering boulders, rock formations, streams and waterfalls. And the fresh mountain air!

Love that when you get there you can Actually go out on the rocks. It is so peaceful and an easy flat walk (though it is 6 mikes round trip and costs a $5 recreation pass). But I highly, highly recommend!

I guess I expected a tall flowing falls. The water in the stream definitely was flowing and falling -- but regardless of definition - this was pretty; isolated, yet close to the road; and peaceful! There is an "out house" as you enter the paths....More

There are some areas of the falls where it is safe to swim. There are other areas you cannot swim and they are marked no swimming.
