We visited their annual gingerbread house exhibit. A lot of local talent went into creating reproductions of some of Portsmouth's historic houses, churches, restaurants, and bakeries. Great exhibit!! Nice gift shop, too.

Wonderful display of gingerbread house in the Historical Society building, but dress warm because when you walk the main part of town there are more in the windows! Fun activity for families.

So glad I spontaneously reserved the walking tour of Portsmouth! Guide Jeff Tomson had encyclopedic knowledge, a sense of humor and perfect timing sheparding our group of eight at a perfect pace. I learned a LOT and am now even more smitten with Portsmouth than I was before. I really appreciated Jeff's binder with supplmental photos and paintings.

I did the historical walking tour with the Portsmouth Historical Society and loved it! Our guide was very knowledgeable and told us everything about the town, specific important buildings, the river, Portsmouth today, and more! He also was always able to provide helpful responses to our questions.

This past weekend, my family and I took the fabulous walking tour that is based on George Washington's 1789 visit to Portsmouth. Our tour guide, Jeff Thomson, was incredibly knowledgeable and made the tour a lot of fun. Locals and visitors alike should consider taking one of these highly engaging tours of our fair city. You won't regret it!
