The original Slate Covered Bridge dates to 1862 and was named after a local family. Unfortunately, this magnificent bridge measuring 122 feet long was destroyed by arson in 1993. The present bridge was rebuilt in 2001. Kudos to the locals for rebuilding and preserving the...More

There are great colors on this brigdge. They have kept it up well. Sometimes you can get a good reflection in the water around it.

The best vantage for taking a pic is as you approach it from the East, heading West. There is an area to pull over.

While in the area we toured this and several other bridges. All have strict weight limits and most only allow only one vehicle at a time and no commercial trucks. As we were going thru the bridge it was like a step back in time....More

We rented bikes from the Ashuelot River campground and did a bike tour of five covered bridges. It was wonderful! We will definitely do it again.

It was quite amusing to be driving through this little barn/bridge. Since I have only driven over large bridges such as the Tobin. I really liked driving through it, and wish I has pulled over to take a picture of it.

Had a lovely day - first we kayaked under the bridge and then later was came back and rode over it on our bikes.
