Fantastic Beach - New boardwalk, clean restaurants, entrance attendants, parking

First visit to Belmar in 30 years. Beach was wonderful. We loved the new boardwalk without any disrupted view. Only one beach front shop at the southern end of the boardwalk and it was a nice shop in a shipping container. Very clean. Well attended....More

Great place for a walk

Me and my girlfriend come down here to walk the boardwalk. Plenty of parking for free. The boardwalk is very clean and inviting. Great views of the ocean and houses along the water. Great place to walk and get some exercise.

Awesome board walk

Perfect for a stroll or jog. Board walk looks newly renovated. Metered Parking available right by the board walk. Great place for kids and family.

I was reading your review. We are thinking of taking a day trip here. The Belmar Beach website suggests to bring food, but your review said that coolers are not allowed. Any idea why they are not allowed?

The most likely reason is they are concerned people will be bringing alcohol which is prohibited. Or trash will be left behind.

Answer

All NJ beaches require payment during the summer. Prices vary by town. Find a pool right now as most beaches are not allowing swimming due to storm runoff i.e. sewage. You would think by now they had that problem solved.
