    Nice Aquarium
We went on Christmas Day with 10 and 14 yo boys. The aquarium was not too busy and there were holiday decorations everywhere. Even it’s not a very big one but we can easily spent couple of hours there. Watching the penguin and hippo feedings were fun and we saw two 3D films which were very well made. Overall it’s a nice aquarium and I would recommend a visit if you travel to Philly.

    Fun aquarium!
We were pleasantly surprised by this aquarium! While it is geared to younger children...which, by the way, is VERY cool, we loved it! Plenty of exhibits, even hippos! Lots of interactive stuff to do to keep the younger ones engaged. We had a good time here!

    Expensive with poor signage
It is almost $100 for a senior couple plus $22 for one fish sandwich and fries and $10 for parking. I know prices are high now but it seems a bit much for a visit that lasts for 2 hours. The signage is terrible, we had our tickets but there was no sign telling us we didn’t have to wait in line if we had them. The signs outside are very small and to not easily point to the entrance.

    Day Trip
Came up from Maryland, with my adult daughter, for a day trip. We had tickets for the 9am entry time on a Sunday. No line/crowd to get in. We spent about 3 hours exploring and the crowd did pick up by that time. Hippos, Kookaburra, Penguins, Sea Nettles, Turtles, petting tanks and Sharks, just to name a few of the attractions. For me the shark tunnel and exhibit as a whole was the best. We also paid a small extra fee to experience the Ocean Realm from above. So cool. Great for kids (and there were plenty of them by the time we were leaving). Exhibits had great viewing areas. Yes, the Baltimore Aquarium is a lot different in many ways, but this aquarium didn't disappoint. Are there better aquariums out there? Yes, but this one is special in it's on little way.

    Small family adventure
Family friendly, fun things to do at the location. They don't have a huge amount of animals, but the displays are definitely animal friendly and kids friendly (easy for kids to see the creatures). Stroller friendly as well.

Great if you love sharks or turtles; otherwise, the zoo is more worth your time
My tour group visited the Philadelphia Zoo in the morning and the Adventure Aquarium in the afternoon. This aquarium does have some fun, unique features like giant sharks, huge sea turtles and multiple species of penguin. However, I found it to be rather “commercial” with more space dedicated to food and toy sales than to the animals. The signage was also geared almost exclusively to young children, without any of the detailed information about the animal’s adaptations or care that the zoo had. Unlike the zoo, there were also no docents to give information or answer questions except at designated feeding times. Furthermore, the two “big animals” at the aquarium, hippos and penguins, can also be found at the zoo along with many more exciting animals like big cats and great apes. I personally feel that if you are trying to choose between the zoo or aquarium, the zoo is by far the way to go. Most of my tour group felt differently, however, mostly because it was an extremely hot day. The aquarium is far less walking and is mostly indoor, as opposed to the mostly outdoor zoo. If heat, cold or walking are considerations, you may want to go with the aquarium. But unless you are a huge shark or sea turtle fan, the zoo has by far the better animal collection. If the aquarium were not included in my tour package, I would not have found it worth the entry fee.

    An engaging and fun experience!
The variety of marine life was impressive, and the exhibits were super interactive. Seeing the sharks and rays up close was a highlight, and the touch tanks were a lot of fun. If you’re in the area and love sea creatures, this place is definitely worth checking out!

The venue was pretty but the staff was the worst. They lacked communication and manners. They lied to us about hidden fees and set up our space incorrectly.

The Adventure Aquarium ruined our event. They charged us for parking when we were told it was free. They chose not to tell us that we would not be able to leave early without paying for parking. We were told about this hidden fee during the event. The staff was extremely rude. They yelled at us to get out faster and began touching our belongings. They forgot to set up our registration table on time so our check in was messed up. They did not provide enough tables even though we were told we would have enough for 300 people. We were given 10 tables (5 cocktail tables and 5 small sitting tables) and 15 chairs. They began setting up late and so our schedule was pushed back. They charged us for water even though we were told that water and soda were included. We were told there were no water fountains on site but we found two water fountains easily found by the dance floor. The food portions were much smaller than we expected and the quality of food was subpar. They told us there would be a “coat check.” Instead, they had coat racks that were not enough for the amount of guests we had and did not have enough coat hangers. We will not be hosting at the aquarium ever again. They were extremely difficult to work with and we recommend that you never work with this venue too. The only positive thing from this event was the nice pictures we got.

First thing you should consider before going is to buy your tickets in advance online. That way you can avoid the long line and just check in. Be aware that this place gets really, really crowded so i don't think it may be a good idea going during the current Covid-19 situation. I went to visit it with my wife and we couldn't enjoy the aquarium much because the whole building was packed. For the small exhibition of animals that they have i think this place is overrated and overpriced but i do think it's a good introduction for kids to what an aquarium is. Facilities were not very well maintained the day we visited it but i guess that all have to do with how crowded this place gets. I think the aquarium has potential, it's just not very well supervised.

The process to get information and book the party in the Skyline Room was frustrating. The phone is rarely answered, all the features of the party and space are not explained well. For the price of the space, the coordinators should be more available and constructive in promoting the features to close the group sale being mindful that not every potential customer has been in the space before.

We did not receive anything shark themed though that was the selected theme. We had plain blue dollar store plates, tablecloths and cups with brown fast food restaurant type napkins.

There was no table decor as we were told there would be. It was so plain and boring in design.

The pizzas were hard and dry with barely any cheese or sauce.

We were told we could have access to the space at least 15 minutes before the party to bring our cupcakes and miscellaneous party decor. We were not taken back until after the party started. Our guest had to wait to come back because of this, but our party was not extended to compensate even though I asked. In fact the attendants kept reminding us how many minutes we had left so we could start to leave.

I didn't know that any of us could have upgraded the ticket to a membership while we were there either!

No preword about the bluetooth music options...limited/outdated photos of the party space presented.

This was not the expected party experience at all.

Even worse, the staff never acknowledged our experience feedback.

my friend and I who are seniors went thru the whole 'adventure" in 1/2 hour! Lines were so long. Total waste of money. The aquarium in riverhead ny is much less expensive, much better layout and no lines because the exhibits are spaced out. I requested a partial refund and never heard back from any representative/

Always love coming to the aquarium with or with out the kids. I had gone on a week day this time at 10 am. Which was awesome because nobody was really there at that point. I was able to see all my favorite exhibits without tons of people getting in the way. Touch tanks are open and I had a blast feeding the sting rays and petting them. I sat for an hour and watched the Penguins being hams for the viewers. My favorite is the shark tunnel, which i think the adults appreciate more than the kids. Always enjoy my visits and since there were few visitors at that time I was able to converse with the staff and ask questions. Staff was beyond friendly and more than happy to answer my questions.

I have visited this aquarium several times in the past with my children, but hadn't been there for a few years. I was quite disappointed this time. They advertise all of the 'touch tanks' that they have for children, but they have changed them. First of all, the 'touch a shark' tank is very deep, so small children won't be able to reach down far enough to touch the sharks. They will tell you to visit their their other 'touch exhibits' instead. One of them was closed for the day, due to staff shortages, and another one had only two items in it. I had told my child about all the cool things she would be able to touch, but we were very disappointed.

One of them had a sign that said 'closed for 15 minutes'. We stayed in the area for about 25 minutes. A staff member finally arrived and told me that they would be closed for another 15 minutes.

The shark bridge is vey cool. The shark tunnel is amazing. The sting ray touch area is awesome. You can feed and touch stingrays, which was wonderful, but the other 'touch exhibits' were really lacking.

They tell you that you should reserve tickets online and then charged me almost $8.00 in extra fees. I also didn't like that the prices change based on the date, and even on a single date, the prices changed. The date we were going, the original price was $29.99 for adults. It kept slowly rising each day. Why??!! I didn't want to buy the tickets until the morning we were going, because with kids, you just never know if they will wake up sick. I ended up having to pay $32.99 for my adult tickets and the child ticket price rose too.

I used to love this place and always recommended it to others. This is no longer the case. I was really disappointed this time around. It was not worth the price I paid and the almost three hour drive home!

While seeing the exhibits were great, there are just too many negatives. The signage is awful. We went for the mermaids and were given a specific time of arrival. We also had a specific time for the show, What we didn't know is that the time for the show just allows you to get in line at that time. The line was over an hour long just to have the mermaids wave at the crowd for 2 minutes. By the time we got done, the aquarium was closing in 30 minutes so we only got to see a very small portion of the aquarium. For 2 seniors and one grandchild it was $115 for 4-5 hours with almost 1.5 hours of that standing in line.

When buying your tickets you'll notice that their calendar has a different price for every day. It doesn't seem to have any rhyme or reason to it. For my husband, myself & our 5yr old it was $120 😳. We decided to do it as a special treat. You're asked to arrive a half hr before your reserved time (I'm not sure why that was as we walked right in & no one cared what time our reservation was for). There really isn't much to or that we could see. The windows into the habitats were extremely small and it was hard to see once the mobs of people cleared. The penguins were in a very small habit & looked sickly. The highlight for my son was the hippo tank (which was cringe worthy) and the gift shop. I would not recommend this as a fun, family activity. Certainly not budget friendly or animal friendly!

First time visiting as a family, booked online tickets in advance accordingly. Upon entry, we asked staff about mask policy and were told unvaccinated and children under 12 required, however nobody wore masks or enforced them either, so if covid is still a concern for you, I would avoid. Aside from the unmasked crowds, the overall aquarium experience was good. There was enough exhibits spread out to keep my kids interested for about 2-3 hrs. The hammerhead shark, hippos and octopus were among the top favorites for us. The shark tunnel and bridge were also unique to this aquarium and made it worth the trip
