This is a very lovely Museum located on the Rutgers University, College Avenue Campus, and is much bigger on the inside than it looks from the outside. Every time we have come, there is a different exhibition. The building with its brick façade is pretty...More

Always something new at Zimmerli. Checfk out their website for special events. Lots of the activity involve the Art History majors. The museum is located on the college avenue green across from the historic Old Queens quad.

We had an event and it was held in the middle of one of the exposition rooms. It's Not a big exhibit but it does have a variety of Paintings and sculptures from American, European and Russian artists. For art lovers it's a good stop

The permanent collection can be viewed in a single visit, but they get special exhibits well worth seeing. (For example, they had Goya's "Los Caprichos" a few years ago.)

The Zimmerli Art Museum is a small, but excellently curated university art museum; apart from its eclectic holdings it also features various events such as concerts and lectures, most if not all free to the public. Definitely check it out if you are in town!

I certainly didn't expect to find Soviet propaganda *plates* and Nonconformist art in a small university museum in NJ. This museum is marvelous AND free-- a double dip. Just about worth a visit to Rutgers for this museum's collection alone.
