In the heart of historical old Patterson thunders this fall. What an opportunity to serve the eager people of this city that gather in this one pictures spot in an otherwise ugly city. It's quite amazing and if cleaned up a bit and with some planting and planning could be a nice spot .

I am a National Park geek. I also love waterfalls and anything related to Alexander Hamilton. He created the town to harness the falls of the Passaic for industry. Some of the mill buildings still exist and have been repurposed. Take the drive that goes by these buildings. Only a few parts are totally accessible, but you can see the... More

My husband found this in the airplane magazine when we were flying home. Great place to learn some history of that area and of Alexander Hamilton.

This was my first trip to the Great Falls and I had a very nice chat with the park ranger there. He said they're about to completely renovate the park, tear out anything that isn't native to the area (trees for example) and restore the park to a more natural setting. There is a new welcome center across the street... More

Great Falls National Historical Park is a great place to see. The falls are impressive and the history is very interesting. You can see most everything in less than an hour and some great walking paths have been constructed. There are plenty of observation points and hydroelectric power is still being produced. Super nice Ranger working there is a wealth... More

The falls are pure natural beauty. It's a nice place to visit for something to do. You will want to park on both sides of the falls to get views of both sides. Going over the bridge to the other side is exciting too but was to cold. It's a shame that the town is so rundown. It has so... More

I'm happy to say that since my last review that the park is now an official National Historic Park! There is a park ranger and a small visitors center. The park has been spiffed up. New paths, observation area and benches. The area around the park is questionable, but the park feels safe. There are now people there specifically to... More
