I've been coming here for a stroll along the banks of the river since I was a student at Rutgers in the 1950s. This is a lovely place to relax and unwind just across the river from the College Avenue campus.

Johnsons Park has something for everyone. There is a mini zoo and playground for kids . Picnic areas for families. Bike paths, tennis courts, and a pond to feed the ducks. Johnson's Park is still FREE. Anyplace else you have to pay for these attractions....More

No paved paths along the water, but there is a towpath on the opposite side of the river that goes on for miles, it's not paved but it's bicycle ready.
