Rose Garden in Somerset
Rudolf W Van Goot Rose Garden is a one of many nice spots at Colonial Park. Filled with many beautiful roses and other flowers, it brought some needed beauty during this coronavirus crisis. I definitely recommend a stop there.

A peaceful garden
My husband and I enjoyed walking around this peaceful spot. The mansion is no longer there but a cute stone cottage and old barn are still standing. The flower garden this time of year is not colorful but in a few months it will be so beautiful! The grounds are well kept and there is easy access to the canal trail.…

A Treat for the Senses
The Rudolf W. Van der Goot Rose Garden is located in Colonial Park in Franklin Township New Jersey. It is a compact display of thousands of roses and it's a great place to literally " take time to smell the roses."

A Hidden Gem
The Rose Garden is a part of Colonial Park -- part of the Somerset County parks system, in Somerset NJ. The Rose Garden is a gem. If you visit in early June, you can experience an extraordinary assortment of colors and scents and varieties of roses, from old-fashioned ramblers to roses that were developed in this century. If you love roses, you won't regret it! As a bonus there is a Fragrance and Sensory Garden at the back end, where you can smell and touch a wonderful selection of flowers and herbs.…

Great or photographers and gardem lovers
Lovely place to spend an afternoon walking among the various roses and herb garden from May through the fall. In June the garden has an opening day celebration although the roses will be ready for viewing prior to that. No entrance fee. It is not very large but has enough space and variety to enjoy. Visitors can also walk from there to the bridge over the canal and stroll along the path.…
