Nice little pub

Great location tucked away in a courtyard area. We stopped by for a quick one before dinner. They do 1ltr beers which was nice.worth a visit if you have time

We wandered into a little courtyard and stumbled upon Elephand and Barrel Village Pub. We were really wanting lunch but it was 11:45 and they did not serve lunch until 12:00 but we could get a pizza which we ordered. For R150 we ordered the meats pizza which was much more than the two of us could eat. It really... More

Spent a wonderful Sunday afternoon eating burgers and drinking craft beer and chilled white wine. The food, service and drinks were all great Lovely setting in a quiet square.

Sit outside and enjoy the heat of the day under brollies or relax in the wooden bar, great bar with nice nibbles too.

This pub is down a little sneaky corridor into an open square, with shops all around the square. You can sit outside or in the typical English pub inside.

Had lunch here. Food was average. Service was poor - the drinks alone took ages to arrive. There was huge confusion over the bill, this needed to be re-issued and was then followed by confusion over payment where the staff thought we'd paid and we had not. Taking all of the issues together and with so many places to eat... More

Everyone is always frequenting the restaurants and pubs in Franschoek main road but go here and you will find a place with good food and music and a nice vibe.

Franschhoek is an expensive and small city. Elephant and Barrels has good prices and some good beers.

Great wholesome pub. Warm and friendly in a typical English pub setting with the barrels adding the "wine route" touch.. Lovely craft beers. Food was great as well. You must have the ribs . Top drawer.

We ordered the ribs and chicken combo and the lamb curry. Both meals were excellent, more so the lamb curry (in my opinion). 😊 The pub was slightly empty though, perhaps the weather was responsible for that - it was very cold. The host was friendly, however, the waitron somewhat lacked hospitality. The music wasn't great, inappropriate I think. They... More
