Waterfall Hike
Dec 2019 • Couples
We parked the car at the office to do the waterfall hike, entrance was R50 per person. It took us a hour to get to the waterfall and a hour to get back to the car. It was a very beautiful hike in nature and we will definitely be back to do more of the trails. The only downside was that the the waterfall was not flowing but that was not a dealbreaker, still very beautiful route.

Disappointing visit
Mar 2019 • Couples
Staff at front gate not that helpful. We where pointed in the general direction of the waterfall but gave up halfway due to the state of the road. I wouldn’t recommend the road for a hired saloon car. Where we did end up walking proved to be quite nice.

Waterfall walk

This was absolutely awesome, the scenery it to die for. The walk is well maintained and although tough, it is doable for the average person. Every step was an experience

Waterfall walk closed

We chatted with the ranger while paying the park fees and asked about the waterfall. She said there had been plenty rain recently so waterfall should be good. Drove the track to find the walk entrance barricaded with a no entry sign. Very disappointed

Gorgeous area for a walk
Feb 2016 • Couples
The whole of this area which effectively forms a backdrop to Swellendam is truly beautifu and the fact that in part at least it can be enjoyed for walking is a genuine bonus ! Beautiful !!

Lovely waterfall walk, about 1hr return. Up hill can be taxing for the unfit especially coming down if you have sore knees.

A hikers paradise
Jul 2015
One of the most scenic hiking trails in the Overvaal,Southern Cape,South Africa at Swellendam. The third town to be established in history past with the arrival of western civilization in the most Southern Point of Africa.94 kilometers from the coastal town,Cape Agulhas, which is at the lowest point on the African continant. The Breede River or in English, the Broad river is in the vicinity of the Marioth Nature Reserve. There are other little rivers flowing from the Lange Berge or in English, the Long Mountain at the Marioth Nature Reserve, which stretches from the northern west coast down to the southern part of the west coast. It has a very nice climate during winter, times which is around 6 degrees in winter and about 32 degreesthe in summer. It is on the beginning of the Garden route on its way to the Eastern Cape and going to one of the main coastal cities,Durban, further north.A great tourist attraction.
