We perform checks on reviews.
Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This is the building across the courtyard from the Kings Mosque. Although it is normally kept locked, the caretaker of the nearby Kings Mosque kindly took us across. While very plain on the outside, the interior is spectacular, particularly the painted wood ceiling that has been renovated with painstaking precision. Originally built in 1782 for a sect of the Dervish community as a place to perform. There is a balcony for musicians.

An amazing example of Islamic art, beautifully renovated with Turkish (Erdogan) money. This is the gathering place of the Sufis, next to the King's mosque and is quite a unique place in the Balkans. Ask the Mosque's guard to open the place for you, from the outside it is quite boring.

About 250 years old, this is a Sufi tekke of the Khalwati order. It was undergoing extensive renovations at the time of my visit, but I was privileged to get access anyway : onto the scaffolding right underneath the magnificent timber green, red & gold ceiling. Few people would come this close to admire the fine lattice and paintwork. A fantastic experience, one to remember.

This is a Becktashi Teqe. It has a information board outside to help you understand how the building was used but a guide will be able to give much more information.

This, fairly small, square building was where the dervishes performed. The balcony was for the musicians. Once, there was also an important grave attached, but that got destroyed in one of the many wars that Albania has suffered. The interior has beautiful frescos, which is quite rare in Islamic architecture in Albania. The guide of the King mosque will automatically show you this, as it is not 100m further.
