Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Great museum for a great historical leader who protected Christianity of Europe from Turkish empire. I was amazed from what I saw.

Nice small museum with storytelling about Albania’s most important ruler. The museum is large enough to get some background and small enough to keep the kids entertained

This is a quick visit. Museum. The most you probably spend is an hour unless you're Albanian and worship Skanderbeg. Learned he was basically a rock star of his day . Albanians love and he is historically present in the culture.

Quite informative and gives you an idea of the life of Skanderbeg. Some English descriptiosns available all over the museum. The terrace on the second floor is good for pics.

Poor English description and heavy in nationalism. Fantastic views. Their museum app won’t download on my iPhone (on WiFi). The curator didn’t seem to care. Surprising no mention of Hoxha’s Estate that built in communist propaganda style. Well maintained grounds (beautiful olive grove) I recommend journey to the very top to view the mountain range behind down to the Adriatic (even if you don’t go into the museum)

We visited this museum in the Easter Holidays. It was full of history and we found it to be very interesting. Really enjoyed the experience.

Skanderbeg's Museum offers a comprehensive overview of the life and importance of a regionally influential hero Gjergj Kastrioti. It has three floors and each of them is dedicated to a certain aspect of the life of Skanderbeg. The collection and artefacts are quite amazing, while the interiors are designed in an unusual, but attractive way. If you're interested in history of Albania and the Balkans, then you should definitely visit this Museum. All recommendations!

Built in the waning years of the Communist regime (and surprisingly nicely) this museum has all you’d like to know — and more — of Albania’s national hero. Many steps. No air conditioning. Some English descriptions.

The Skenderbeg museum stands in the middle of the ruined medieval Kruja castle which very little is left of. Most visitors think that the museum edifice is the castle itself, due to it's castle like architecture designed by Enver Hohxa's daughter. The design I'd say is somewhere between the fortress area's coexistence and many kitsch details. However, the location of it is great and historically justified as Skenderbeg used the castle as his stronghold and headquarters against the Ottomans and was even the capital during 13 and 14 c.
Entry fee is cheap like in most such places in Albania, few Euros. I wasn't so thrilled with exhibits throughout three floors, as they didn't seem so authentic to me, mostly based on legends and propaganda with national symbols.
Finally, if you're already there I'd recommend visiting it as it will take less than an hour and is cheap, plus you get great 360' views from the terrace.
