Take the time to learn about the history, very worthwhile. If you are not careful you will miss this and it is so worth the stop.

Part of the Sanctuario and a hidden gem. The history alone makes this so worthwhile. Take time to see everything you can.

The interior of the chapel is magnificent. The area dedicated to the children is awe inspiring and will bring you to tears. If you have healthy kids - it will remind you of how fortunate you are. After your visit make sure to stop by the BEST RED CHILI store in NM. It is located in a house - 251... More

This pretty little church is NOT the church with the healing dirt. That's the one up the road. This one is very bright and joyous and certainly worth stopping at to admire the artwork.

Beautiful old Mission Church. The Chapel has a room with a pit that has healing dirt that you are free to take, plus they give you the prayer to say along with it. Crutches, letters, etc. of people claimed to have been healed. A children's chapel with memorabilia of sick children. Gift shop and beautiful stations of the cross, statues... More

While at El Santuario de Chimayo, don't overlook the Santo Nino Chapel. Go into the chapel to the left of the main altar to see the statue of the nino with all the baby shoes donated over the years to ensure the baby Jesus can continue his nightly rounds of helping those in need. The photographs of thousands of children... More

This chapel is dedicated to children. The interior art work is not as old as that in the main Santuario, and is less somber. There are trees with carved birds, dolls, infant shoes and pictures of children who need prayer. We found it quaint. There is a gift store next door.

This is a Catholic Chapel for children. The inside is covered in folk art and religious icons. It's designed to be welcoming for children so there are lots of child-like drawings and art. It's very pretty. There is a side room near the altar where there are photos of children and gifts of children's shoes, clothing and dolls. I wish... More
