I have visited this museum and village many times. I recommend making a loop using Raton as a starting place and taking one route to Folsom, and the other one to return to Raton. The museum is in an old building that adds greatly to...More

Local residents are trying hard to renovate, and renew this unique place. Ask about Folsom man tours, the place where the Folsom man was found is nearby. Museum is a work in progress.

Very interesting museum-quite a eclectic collection of items that have been donate. The history of the town of Folsom and the archeological dig make it most interesting. The flood that ruined the town and took the lives of 18 people, the history of the black...More

This was a quaint and interesting, rather sizable collection of old things -- from household, farm, and various other places. I particularly enjoyed the old kitchen gadgets. Fun! There's also quite a bit of information and documentation about the history of the area. Very glad...More

This museum contains relics donated by residents of the area. A once booming town, with history of railroads and train robberies, Black Jack Ketchum and hangings, Folsom is slowing dying. The museum has some information specifically relating to the Folsom man and arrowheads. With a...More

The Museum is chock full of local history-most of the items inside were donated by long time residents of the area. The artifacts range from prehistoric to more modern, all housed in a General Mercantile from the 1800s. Don't miss the rock displays and the...More

As all the reviews say, this is an out-of-the-way village with almost no services. The Museum is in an ancient general store with VERY saggy floors. Mostly local history, with basically one small case on Folsom Man, discovered in a major archealogic site more than...More
