A working trading post
May 2017 • Couples
Big Rock is an authentic old trading post - it has a small amount of Native American arts and crafts, but the real reason to visit is seeing a real, working trading post for the people who live around the four corners area. It is a fascinating place! Everything you could want to run your farm or ranch is available, as well as basic home goods.

A real old-time trading post that serves the Navajo locals and has a fascinating museum
Oct 2016 • Solo
Friendly owners and even Navajo staff will help you find everything from turquoise handmade jewelry to real cradleboards. The owners have been serving the Navajo community for generations, and will allow entry to their fascinating museum (including ancestral pottery and other artifacts). The real thing, there are few real trading posts left in the American Southwest.

Ask them about nearby rock art and the story behind it.

Great jewelry
Aug 2016 • Friends
Highlight of my trip to Farmington. Great shop.
Family has been shopping here for years. Glad my cousin convinced me to visit. Left with several pieces of turquoise jewelry at a great price.

Better than Pawn Stars

Wow, what a fun place has everything, even an awesome dog for my kids to play with. This was our favorite stop on our trip from Tennessee, better than the four corners monument. It has a museum with real Navajo history to include a code talker medal. Also if you want turquoise this is the place to go. Really don't miss this on your trip!!!

A Trip into the Past - a real "old-time" Trading Post
Apr 2013 • Friends
This is a very special spot and a true trading post from the past and present; they are providers to the local Navajo artists of today as well as offering all sorts of items to the present-day tourist. We were taken their by our Native American friends/artists because this is one of the places they purchase their supplies. IF you ask and are truly interested, they are likely to let you into the very small museum they maintain, which is full of interesting local artifacts as well as other items of interesting, related materials. For instance, they have the medallion of the only non-Navajo WWII Code Talker! A fascinating stop if you have the time and interest.
