This is a museum trifecta! The Art Museum, Nature & Science Museum, and the Branigan Cultural Center (all FREE and on the same block) are must-sees while in Las Cruces. The Senior Art show was on display while I was there, and I was simply...More

This small but very interesting museum is located downtown at 411 Main Street, in the area of several other museums...it is not at the Mesilla Valley Mall. Very well done, with examples of the Early Permian fossil beds, many living examples of native turtles, frogs,...More

I think older children might enjoy this museum. It's very small and you can probably go through it, reading most everything, in less than an hour. It's free, well lit, and pretty interesting in a cliff notes sort of way.

This is a free museum with some interesting exhibits. I think children would enjoy seeing the cast dinosaur skull and the live exhibits of the spiders, snakes, turtles, etc. The staff is very friendly and welcoming. It is part of a "complex" of museums downtown.

This is a small, new downtown museum. Two special things: Copies of the dinosaur tracks found locally and an original "lawnmower" telescope of the discover of Pluto (Clyde Tombaugh, a native of Las Cruces).

This may be a small museum but it is full of very interesting stuff. I liked the Permian Tracks and the tanks with the animals.

My 13-year-old son and I visited this on Saturday. The exhibits were extremely well done and the presentations very informative. I highly recommend it!
